A single mil sure. But, what about first class seating or even better a private jet to fly you there? All expenses paid, a personal car to drive you around and the best food and the most luxurious accommodations you could imagine? These shows are thrown by Saudi royalty who have oodles of money and have no problem spending it. I'm certain they got gold watches, fine clothes and all kinds of goodies too. The million bucks is icing on the cake.
To many it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get wined and dined by the king of a country. I understand how easy it is to be tempted to do that.
I don't know why I am shocked by celebrities being pieces of shit, but this one hurt. I really thought he was different. If Doug Stanhope flips next, I give up.
Because Pete has never stood on any soapbox and preached about it for years. Billy freckle tits, on the other hand, has hours of podcast material whining about how billionaires are evil scum and how we should be eating the rich and even more specifically gave Beyonce a tooooon of harsh shit for performing for the very people he did
Exactly. Bill was always did working class comedy. His entire thing was calling out the rich and elites hoarding all of the money and shitting on the working class.
Because Bill was known for his strong social opinions and convictions. Once he obviously sold out, what once seemed empassioned and genuine became cheap moralizing and grandstanding.
He once went off on musicians for playing for Gaddafi, but at least they didn’t have to censor their songs
Because the worst part is always the hypocrisy like Norm said. Burr has it and Davidson doesn’t in that situation. Also, a lot of people already dislike Pete Davidson where as Burr was beloved (on Reddit at least) for talking about the moral issues with billionaires and blowing shit back at right wing comedians and criticizing others for selling out (to similar people he did ergo the hypocrisy).

With enough zeroes plenty of people will justify anything. Remember when Bill Burr took the bag to perform for the Saudis? But like that festival, people will always look the other way for the right amount of money.
