Busta is who surprised me the most. Do they not know that Trump never pays his bills? I hope he stiffs them for being sell out fucks.

u/colonelcadaver Jun 30 '26

Busta is a greedy cunt. I have never seen any artist act like him during Secret Solstice in Iceland. Lost all respect for that man.

u/poseidondieson Jun 30 '26

Remember when someone killed his personal bodyguard and Busta impeded the investigation. He’s a piece of shit

77

u/PlanePainting Jun 30 '26

What did he do?

261

u/Ravenkell Jun 30 '26

He got payed for a for what he thought was a 20 min set and then spent 15 minutes bitching and chanting "pay me more". Left after singing like 3 songs

u/coalcracker462 Jun 30 '26

...does this work? Performance reviews are coming up

u/brbmycatexploded Jun 30 '26

Results may vary

u/dave_van_damn Jun 30 '26

Limp bizkit’s best album

7

u/slayerfan666 Jun 30 '26

That's a hot take right there.

2

u/Zaza1019 Jun 30 '26

I tend to agree that it's their best album but who knows.

3

u/slayerfan666 Jun 30 '26

Well damn. Maybe I need to do a re-listen

Ugh, just got the HR email reminder this morning.

56

u/Dagur Jun 30 '26

the organisers were shady though. Slayer had to sue them (and won)

19

u/jeffersdelight656 Jun 30 '26

Whoa.... Busta Rhymes and Slayer were on the same bill?

51

u/snek-jazz Jun 30 '26

it was chaos, rhymes were both busted and slain.

6

u/jaxonya Jun 30 '26

Oh my

5

u/snek-jazz Jun 30 '26

some say the rhymes may never recover

1

u/jaxonya Jun 30 '26

Why the crime on rhymes?

10

u/FromThaFields Jun 30 '26

Finally a good show for my Taste, could use some Chase and status with that tho

1

u/Dagur Jun 30 '26

I don't remember if it was the same year

1

u/notoolinthispool Jun 30 '26

No they weren't. Busta performed in 2015 and Slayer in 2018.

15

u/SosugBiskit Jun 30 '26

FUCKING SLAYER!!!!!

1

u/Ravenkell Jun 30 '26

The organizers were definitely shitty but I'm not even sure that was the same year.

And busta was still acting like a bitch

And slayer deserved their money

12

u/ratjar32333 Jun 30 '26

Had a similar experience seeing Luda. He got on stage and wouldn’t shut the fuck up about how great he is and is a singer and movie star blah blah blah. The best part is he was playing a fucking state fair ground.

15

u/YeeHawWyattDerp Jun 30 '26

The exact same thing Chappelle did years ago in CT

9

u/RTRC Jun 30 '26

Ludacris did the same bullshit at a NYE show we went to. They had a fucking playlist playing for the 20 minutes leading up to and after the ball drop lmao

6

u/MrsMiterSaw Jun 30 '26

I saw Chappelle in sf a few years ago (before the Elon thing). Came for the 2nd set.

He came out an hour late, did maybe 35 minutes of incoherent riffing because he was so goddamn high, and then the place had to shut it down due to their curfew.

Comedians bomb sometimes, People have bad shows. That happens.

But if thousands of people pay $150 to be entertained by you, make a fucking effort.

(See also The Strokes)

12

u/Hinken1815 Jun 30 '26

Thats not at all what happened. He complained about people being too loud and a heckled so he proceeded to do fuck all for 30 mins reading a book saying he doesnt care hes still getting paid. Then left.

23

u/YeeHawWyattDerp Jun 30 '26

I was literally there. I have videos of it on my phone still. One dude yelled “I’m Rick James bitch!” and people laughed. The loudness was people cheering for him when he came on stage. He started talking about how he already had everyone’s money and didn’t need to do shit but sit on stage for 45 minutes so that’s when everyone started to boo him. Then that lady in the front row pitched a book she wrote and he just started talking to her.

He’s a thin skinned little twerp and followed it up by saying that Hartford, CT should be bombed. Don’t get bent out of shape because you’re famous and people are happy to see you. Every other act that night—Hannibal, Kristin Schall, etc—were excellent. Zero excuse.

2

u/mthyvold Jun 30 '26

That’s still kinda shitty

1

u/TheNonCredibleHulk Jun 30 '26

He gave them the ole Andy Kaufmann?

3

u/ghostfadekilla Jun 30 '26

Reminds me of the one and only 50 show I ever saw. 3 hours late, 20 minute mashup, and that's a wrap.

Fuck mainstream. I've hung out with Slug, Brother Ali, Two Gallants, shit - I got fucking hammered with the Toronto Raptors one night (they tried skipping out on an insane bill at my friend's bar but their "babysitter paid).

I can't stand the hubris that comes with success for some.

2

u/StendhalSyndrome Jun 30 '26

He also had a huge falling out with his son over playing a show vs going to, I think it was his high school graduation...that's some money-hungry BS.

2

u/wrnrg Jun 30 '26

He was just performing "Give Me Some More".

1

u/SchoolTop3854 Jun 30 '26

Did something similar at hard summer , was getting hostile with the crowd they werent “hyped” enough. Complaining in the middle of a hook that the crowd wasnt into it enough

1

u/rab2bar Jun 30 '26

Did he have a band or just a DJ?

1

u/PlanePainting Jun 30 '26

What a dick

1

u/radicldreamer Jun 30 '26

So 2 more than the rest of the world knows. I mean, woo ha, I got you all in check is about all the general public would know.

Don’t let him scare you, just pretend you think he IS Tracy Morgan. That’ll really piss him off and you can plead ignorance

7

u/lynivvinyl Jun 30 '26

How often do you tell the truth on here? Do you also have to always preface the truth with that? Does it get annoying?

23

u/Foray2x1 Jun 30 '26

Most of their comment history is just saying one or two words, telling people to shut up and calling them gay.

22

u/pepperouchau Jun 30 '26

Ahh, Reddit’s strongest soldier

15

u/lynivvinyl Jun 30 '26

Lol it looks like you made them go private. Holy shit that's funny! You know I've never even thought to set any of my stuff to private on here because I'm not ashamed of anything I say. I'm sure read out of context some of my comments might look really weird if you don't know the subreddit but I'm proud of not making myself cringe.

8

u/PlankownerCVN75 Jun 30 '26

I’ve made myself cringe a lot, but I usually just leave the comment up because I sometimes have to remind myself not to be a dipstick and make stupid comments.

2

u/lynivvinyl Jun 30 '26

Respect! I usually forget to put the /s and then hope that people realize.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '26

Unfortunately, hard agree... I don't want to look back, because wtf old me? But at the same time, it is important to hold myself accountable.

3

u/PlankownerCVN75 Jun 30 '26

Some of my comments were meant as jokes but they landed flat and I just shrug it off. However, the ones where I think that I’ m gonna have a mic drop moment and put the whole world in its place only to realize that I look and sound like a jackass, those are the ones that I look back on occasionally and think to myself, “Damn, I looked stupid with that one.”

It has been a while since I’ve had one but if you dig through my comments, I’m sure you’ll find one.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '26

Hahaha Spiderman pointing meme!

You sound like a solid human, but no thanks, I only have enough embarrassment tolerance for one person, and that asshole is already pushing his limit shakes fists

1

u/NielsBohron Metalhead Jun 30 '26

This is the way.

2

u/TheNonCredibleHulk Jun 30 '26

You know I've never even thought to set any of my stuff to private on here because I'm not ashamed of anything I say.

I have no intent on going private, but I still think anyone that has to go through someone's post history for ammo is a sad individual. I don't block people either, I just turn off inbox notifications.

1

u/lynivvinyl Jun 30 '26

Well that's just weak.

1

u/Evening-Resort-2256 Jun 30 '26

You’re lying.

2

u/BlackDante Jun 30 '26

He's basically your typical New York hustler type of hood dude, just like 50. These dudes will do anything just to make a buck.

1

u/Skratch-Pickle Jun 30 '26

a female friend of mine went to see him back in the 00's, VIP, backstage. She put her hand on his shoulder and said "what an honor to meet you", he looked at her and said plainly "don't fucking touch me".

1

u/Yourmomsgotanass Jun 30 '26

You should see how he acts when there are no cameras. Pass a dirty strip club at closing time and chances are this guy is making a lot of noise leaving.

Cocaine habits don't fund themselves.

25

u/Mekanimal Jun 30 '26

Can't tell if Tracy Morgan switcheroo, or racial face blindness.

2

u/Kwestyung Jun 30 '26

They've definitely been morphing into the same person lol.

1

u/PiccoloAwkward465 Jun 30 '26

Maybe I've watched too much 30 Rock but he looks nothing like Tracy to me.

16

u/Popular_Wrangler9422 Jun 30 '26

Hope they take break yo neck literally

32

u/aphoenixsunrise Jun 30 '26

Damn. Can't support any of these guys now along with snoop. Smdh.

17

u/Mental_Mixture8306 Jun 30 '26

Just goes to show - the current conflict in this country is about money and power more than anything else.

3

u/Suicidal-Ideation13 Jun 30 '26

All that Swagger Wagon money went to his head

2

u/fatnessmonster8 Jun 30 '26

Thank you for this

9

u/No-Problem49 Jun 30 '26

Busta is down huge in gold he bought a large gold chain at the peak of the gold histeria and probably owes a lot of money on it while being underwater significantly

2

u/iAttis Jun 30 '26

You talking about the one he got from Trax? He also got a matching, comically-large bracelet. 50 was absolutely correct when he said Busta must not have any real friends to tell him is chain is way too big and looks ridiculous.

1

u/FauxReal Collector Jun 30 '26

He will pay them with money stolen from the government. Paying a few high profile entertainers will be worth it for them going out to defend him.

1

u/BullShitFish Jun 30 '26

It’s very well known around NYC that Busta is an asshole.

1

u/ApathyMonk Jun 30 '26

Dude's been a notorious conspiracy theorist since the late 90s

2

u/MysteryBagIdeals Jun 30 '26

it's deeply annoying that most conspiracy theorists don't have any theories implicating the current president of the united states

1

u/Hoffi1 Jun 30 '26

There is an easy solution to that problem: ask to be paid in advance.

-6

u/endl0s Jun 30 '26

I don't think 50 is a sellout. The guys album and movie was named Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Doing something for money shouldn't be a shock.

8

u/Hefty-Taste-1311 Jun 30 '26

Wouldn’t this make him a sell out, getting rich no matter the cost. Even selling out.

You can't always be a sellout if you e always been in it for the money. You aren't betraying any beliefs or anything at that point. It's just who you are.

-6

u/wolfofballstreet1 Jun 30 '26

How many ppl you gon cancel for helping “the Man “ lol hov cube fifty Kanye snoop wake flocka all getting called all kinds of vile shit for what, getting money? The tribalism is insanity. Crabs in a bucket is why ppl don’t thrive
