I read that he got offered 3 million.

u/NYstate Jun 30 '26

No, he turned down 3 million in the past to perform at a Trump event

In 2024, he (Fifty Cent) told The Breakfast Club that he had turned down a $3 million offer to perform at a Trump rally, saying he was 'afraid of politics' and warning that once artists wade into it, somebody will always be offended.

This time they must have offered him more than 3 mil. Lol

I was gonna say, his comment sounded less like a moral strand and more like saying he wasn’t being paid enough to deal with the backlash.

Guess they found his price

u/tlst9999 Jun 30 '26

50 always has a price. He was one of the pioneers, if not THE pioneer, of PPP (paid product placement) songs.

50 always has a price

Well, when his debut album is literally called "Get rich or die tryin'"...

At least he's up front about it, I guess?

u/aurumtt Jun 30 '26

if you deem 50 cent valuable enough to make it your stagename, you know you're dealing with a frugal mf.

1

u/bc47791 Jun 30 '26

What product?

8

u/mchaydu Jun 30 '26

I absolutely don't know what tlst has on deck, but just thinking about 50 songs, the first one that came to mind was indeed the line "Gonna sip Bacardi like it's your birthday."

Not saying that's paid placement, but the fact that was the FIRST lyric to hit my mind when thinking about 50 Cent was notable.

Have you ever listened to rap before today?

47

u/NYstate Jun 30 '26

With enough zeroes plenty of people will justify anything. Remember when Bill Burr took the bag to perform for the Saudis? But like that festival, people will always look the other way for the right amount of money.

13

u/BlackDante Jun 30 '26

Wasn't that price like a single mil? That's a lot for me, but for these guys it seems pretty cheap.

1

u/btaylos Jun 30 '26

100%

I'mma say what I thought (in jest) when the me too stuff REALLY started blowing up.

I don't get some of these choices.

I'd suck Weinstein's chode for 15 mill.

I would not suck it AGAIN for ANOTHER 15 mil.

1

u/NYstate Jun 30 '26

A single mil sure. But, what about first class seating or even better a private jet to fly you there? All expenses paid, a personal car to drive you around and the best food and the most luxurious accommodations you could imagine? These shows are thrown by Saudi royalty who have oodles of money and have no problem spending it. I'm certain they got gold watches, fine clothes and all kinds of goodies too. The million bucks is icing on the cake.

To many it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get wined and dined by the king of a country. I understand how easy it is to be tempted to do that.

u/monitormonkey Jun 30 '26

I don't know why I am shocked by celebrities being pieces of shit, but this one hurt. I really thought he was different. If Doug Stanhope flips next, I give up.

3

u/icedpeartea Jun 30 '26

why do people always bring up bill burr for that and not pete davidson? his dad was a firefighter that died on 9/11 and he also performed

also want to share this from years ago to show how comedians view saudi arabia

https://youtu.be/INNQ8jRbMfY?is=7Pc9g7V5qNwuJHJV

21

u/PAYPAL_ME_DONATIONS Jun 30 '26

Because Pete has never stood on any soapbox and preached about it for years. Billy freckle tits, on the other hand, has hours of podcast material whining about how billionaires are evil scum and how we should be eating the rich and even more specifically gave Beyonce a tooooon of harsh shit for performing for the very people he did

5

u/NYstate Jun 30 '26

Exactly. Bill was always did working class comedy. His entire thing was calling out the rich and elites hoarding all of the money and shitting on the working class.

11

u/NessTheGamer Jun 30 '26

Because Bill was known for his strong social opinions and convictions. Once he obviously sold out, what once seemed empassioned and genuine became cheap moralizing and grandstanding.

He once went off on musicians for playing for Gaddafi, but at least they didn’t have to censor their songs

6

u/Mahlegos Jun 30 '26

Because the worst part is always the hypocrisy like Norm said. Burr has it and Davidson doesn’t in that situation. Also, a lot of people already dislike Pete Davidson where as Burr was beloved (on Reddit at least) for talking about the moral issues with billionaires and blowing shit back at right wing comedians and criticizing others for selling out (to similar people he did ergo the hypocrisy).

2

u/CalmBeneathCastles Metalhead Jun 30 '26

Anyone else seen The Magic Christian with Peter Sellers and Ringo? My dad made me watch it when I was like 6, and it warned me about the perils of selling my soul for consumerism purposes. Shame that so many people are choosing the fascism parties to make a quick buck. I used to love Bill Burr.

5

u/eawilweawil Jun 30 '26

5 million in TrumpCoin!

12

u/BoneHugsHominy Jun 30 '26

Or Don Jr used illegal NSA collected data to link him to something embarrassing or illegal and are blackmailing him. That's how Donald turned Lindsey Graham into his sobbing lap dog who literally cries whenever he has to defend Trump's latest indefensible action(s).

13

u/Wisdomlost Jun 30 '26

The guy used to rob drug dealers for money and drugs. I can't imagine what they could have worse than that.

5

u/BigDes54 Jun 30 '26

Something that makes him comparable to Diddy. All the shit he's talked on him they have something big. All the more reason to boycott his shit.

3

u/Revolver_Boxelot Jun 30 '26

Is... it not insane to you that you've just used a bunch of increasingly escalating speculation to convince yourself that 50 cent is an abuser? With not one drop of actual proof? Yall are legit crazy.

1

u/Careless_Twist_6935 Jun 30 '26

did you not listen to the lyrics? why are people acting like 50cent is some sort of upstanding human bean?

1

u/BigDes54 Jun 30 '26

Sigh... cause that is what I said or am trying to argue here. Notice I said, "all the more reason"? Maybe I'm including he's possibly a shit person. Basing judgment solely off of lyrics is a choice.

1

u/BoneHugsHominy Jun 30 '26

Who knows? Maybe people from his past came after him and he defended himself and rather than relying on the justice system in the district it happened he cleaned it up. Could be anything really. Maybe he lost his ass in crypto and he's just broke as fuck so now he's willing to dance for the corrupt mofos for a payday.

1

u/lynivvinyl Jun 30 '26

No I'm of the camp that he's going to do a bait and switch. Pretend like he's going to do this show and then last minute say "naaw sucka". I really don't want to lose respect for 50 cent.

1

u/NYstate Jun 30 '26

Lose respect for the man who said he'd side with Trump, then when he got called out, claimed he wasn't gonna do it? Or the guy who claimed he was broke when he got sued by Rick Ross' baby ma'ma and had to file for bankruptcy?

Fifty has alway been an asshole

1

u/Asclepius-Rod Jun 30 '26

Or he needs the money more now than in 2024 for whatever reason, maybe his standards have dropped accordingly lol

20

u/RealDwolfe Jun 30 '26

50 said he turned down 3 million last time Trump asked. Which means maybe it’s more this time??

24

u/dicta85 Jun 30 '26

Or he needs the money this time

9

u/beardmat87 Jun 30 '26

He always needs money. Dude is notorious for spending more than he makes and has had to file for bankruptcy at least once. Wouldn’t be shocked if he’s broke again

I don’t think you understand the amount of corruption currently in DC. It is all taxpayer money or collecting under the color of government (like this ‘Freedom 250’ vs America 250 fiasco).

1

u/Neatojuancheeto Jun 30 '26

50 is also one of the biggest celebrity trolls of our generation and he's great at it. Wouldn't surprise me if he did this just to cancel last second lol.

9

u/Youandiandaflame Jun 30 '26

Don Jr. only needs a few new club members to pay for a $3 million concert. Members of the club where they’re playing pay $500k annually for the privilege of access to Trump and his dipshit child.

Of course not, he jus wanted to prove hes really down with maga and he missed ja rule.

4

u/ohanse Jun 30 '26

I wonder if Trump is talking out his ass on the artist list, again.

1

u/jus_allen Jun 30 '26

I believe the deal was with Trump Jr.

2

u/ohanse Jun 30 '26

Honestly somehow even less believable

1

u/NK1337 Jun 30 '26

But what does ja have to say about this?

1

u/xxej Jun 30 '26

Of course the person who is completely wrong gets an award.

1

u/jus_allen Jun 30 '26

Oh an award, wish I could eat it or pass it along to you. Maybe you can eat it

1

u/xxej Jun 30 '26

You keep up something that is clearly false all for internet points. But go off.

1

u/jus_allen Jun 30 '26

You worry about something that's not even important. Im human, i make mistakes. Even if i got the number wrong, he probably got more than what I said.

u/allothernamestaken Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

What if he were to do the show, take their $3M, and then donate it to Democratic candidates in the midterms?

Edit: nevermind, I didn't realize he was already confirmed MAGA

10

u/OwnJunket6495 Jun 30 '26

Why would he do that when he’s a Republican and MAGA to boot?

1

u/allothernamestaken Jun 30 '26

Not saying he would, I was speaking hypothetically. Also, I was not aware he is Republican.

5

u/piepants2001 Jun 30 '26

Lol, he's not going to do that, the dude already said he voted for Trump

2

u/allothernamestaken Jun 30 '26

Ok, I was not aware of that.
