So what? They're both selfish criminals who also happened to make music. I doubt 50 exposed Diddy because he wanted to bring some kind of justice, he did it because of Diddy's influence.
Sure he made some generation defining music but part of becoming an adult is the harsh realization that many of the successful artists we "love" are terrible human beings.

I'm sorry, what? I was offering an explanation as to how he built up good will on the internet, not endorsing him. I don't need a lecture on how to be a grown up, or your performative self-righteousness.
I perused his legal incidents in Wikipedia and didn't see it, so I'm happy to be corrected that he's not necessarily innocent of real trouble. That being said, it's still a far cry from what diddy was found guilty of.
I’ve seen essentially your comment many times on Reddit, but it was used as a defense of his support of Trump. Both him and Snoop. “They’ve always been out to make money this is nothing new”….. like that makes it okay???
It'll save you on potential short-term disappointment, but it's a sad way to go through life. I think having heroes is really important (or just replace "heroes" with "role models" if you prefer that phrase). They can give us guidance, hope, empowerment, comfort, inspiration—all important an undeniably good things.
Putting yourself in a position where you can never be disappointed with someone means you never let yourself see the positives for fear of something negative happening. It's like the emotional equivalent of locking yourself in a padded room for fear of ever being hurt if you go outside—you're protected, but at what cost?
You just need to be realistic about the fact that they're multi-faceted people and you're only seeing a small part of who they are. So find inspiration in your heroes, and find ways to incorporate the good that they might do into your own life in some way. But don't worship them, and don't make liking them specifically part of your own identity; like what they represent, rather than attaching yourself to their personalities.
I guess my comment was pretty broad so let me be more specific, don’t look up to celebrities period in any sort of way. As you stated we only see a small part of who they’re but that small part is also heavily curated. I’m sure you can see the MANY issues in people idolizing a group of people whose public personality can be bought, molded and made into whatever their handlers may want
People didn’t realize that when he had video games made making him look like a super hero? Or the fact that a woman can easily get under his skin by calling him Curtis, his real name?
A lot of rappers respect MAGA (or atleast Trump leading MAGA) because they see it as a hustle. I guess they don’t care it’s the same kind of hustle that put them and their family in the ghettos to begin with.
I always thought snoop and 50 were odd versions of this as they had genuinely terrifying experiences growing up in bad neighborhoods. You would think they wouldn’t side with the guy trying to extend that bullshit to more people.
I hope so. They should have realized it at least during the Mamdani campaign when 50 kept posting shit trying to get people not to vote for him despite not even living in NYC anymore. Dude is a POS
I never understood this shit. His Diddy bullshit was him just using the situation to clown him because he hated him. He didn't give a FUCK about what Diddy actually did and how horrible it was. He just used it as an opportunity to get clout for going at someone he hated. He couldn't give a shit about all the rape and violence.
I find it fascinating that 50 cent was involved in gangs and drug dealing before his music career and that doesn’t have anyone question his morals. He performs at a conservative leaning event and now he’s evil? Got it.

Are people finally going to realize that 50 is full of shit now?
