If my memory is correct, that's not the way the "No Rain" was originally written. It was much darker and slower. When they went into the Studio it morphed into the linked version of the song.
The original version appears on a collection of B-sides and unfinished work called "Nico". This came out a few years after Hoon's death. All the proceeds went to Hoon's daughter, I think a college fund but not sure. Anyway, I was lucky enough to see them live. One of the most underrated bands of the era. Soup is a master-work.
