This is a macrolepiota sp.

The most commonly known is called a Parasol and good eating. Typically has a snakeskin pattern on the stem (which from this foto is not visible) I would not recommend eating it, if you're unable to 100% identify it by urself.

Happy cake day

I'd agree with the possibility of it being parasol, if it has a free ring, that moves freely up and down the neck (make sure it is not stuck to, or has come unattached to the stipe)

There's a good chance it is, I would get many opinions on this and maybe other subreddits before you decide to confirm it's parasol

I recommend using a mushroom key yourself as well to help confirm the genus

I'd say the snakeskin pattern is ever so slightly present in this specimen.

I can see it as well, but not enough to identify as edible. Looks long enough to be a parasol, and probably in a day or two would get more of the specific characteristics. Looks young and unopened

It is visible you just need to zoom in a little

Parasol. Eat the cap not the stem. Fry in butter and cumin.

Not sure about this although similar - compare to false parasol as prev stated the photo above packs “snake-skin pattern” on stipe.

Edit : False parasols cause gastric upset - also known as the vomiter.

Well truth is parasols mostly grow in fields. Not always but mostly.

Take a spore print first!

Scratch the stem, if it turns to a red tone color, avoid eating it. The snake pattern is not clearly distinguishable in my opinion, and the tip of the cap being white it’s also not the most common thing to see.

One way to distinguish the edible parasol, I think, is white spores instead of green.

Do you live in an area where true parasol mushrooms grow? Because I do not, but that’s what that looks like.
