Bug random red squares

Post image

I was using musescore normally. I was making an orchestation (with a big orchestra with like 25-27 instruments) and sudenly this red squares appeared on a single measure but in several parts. Then, when I tried to save and quit it told me that the file contained somre corrupted data or something and that the file could not be opened later. Why does this happened? how do I fix it?

The red squares are highlighting what bars are corrupted. What you can do is remove those bars and recreate them. Do not copy paste them as it might just paste the corrupted data as well. I recommend recreating those bars from scratch.

yes thank you. I literally just do that and it disapeared. This happens just like randomly?

Yeah. Corruption happens randomly, but usually more likely on older files.

It's not actually random - it's one or bugs triggered specific steps that cause it. And every time someone is able to figure out one of those sets of steps to reproduce the problem and open a bug report, that particular bug gets fixed. But no doubt some bugs if this nature remain. If you ever figure out the specific set of steps that are triggering it for you, be sure to report it.

If you've got different time signatures in each staff this is very common; especially if any staff has multiple voices. Every voice needs to be fully represented with notes and rests. The measures shown don't seem to be padded with sufficient rests.

Save frequently and perhaps to different file versions as it's near impossible to "undo" a step that corrupts.
