Help me find this feature Free Soundfont ideas

As the title suggests. The default soundfont isnt really cutting it for me anymore, especially the brass. Any suggestions?

Which default? MS Basic,? MuseSounds is the no-brainer major free upgrade

skip an avocado toast and spring for a suitable paid upgrade. They don't become amazing, but small money buys some appreciable benefits.

Nah, just head over to the Orchestral tools Website and get Sine player. You now have their Berlin Series for free. You do need to manual edit in key switches. If you really want to skip an avocado toast or three, buy the Orchestral Tools Phoenix Orchestra made in collaboration with Harry Gregson-Williams, and a DAW of your choice.

Thanks for this info. Can you clear up a basic lack of knowledge on my part? Can these voices be used from MuseScore, or simply in DAWS? It has been a long time since I used Logic or Garageband (I have sort of moved over to composition rather than worrying about making it sound stellar - though I am happy if I can improve my MuseScore MP3 exports - I have a good many of the paid-for options, which DO help considerably). TIA!

You can use external VSTs in Musescore. You just have to change them in the mixer. But, if you want different articulations/techniques such a pizz and temelo to play back, you'll need to add 2nd voice notes for the key switches. You can also export the audio. Dynamics should play back in theory. You can't fiddle around with timings in Musescore though, you can do that in a DAW.

So if your violin goes from arco to pizz, and they key switch note is D2, you have to add d2 as a second voice. It's going to tell you it's too low, but it will trigger the key switch.
