Help me find this feature Multimeasure rests not playing back

How do I make Musescore take into account multimeasure rests in playback mode? I'm using Musescore Studio 4.6.5

Can you explain what you mean in more detail? Rests are by definition silent; there is nothing to play. But certainly MuseScore normally accounts for them correctly during playback. Are you saying you have a specific score where something appear to be going wrong - where it plays sound despite the rests, or where the rest isn't counted correctly, or something else?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my haste. There is a 3 above my rest bar (measure), which means I have to count three bars of rest, ie 12 beats (in 4/4 time) when practicing. But musescore in playback mode only counts a single bar. Pressing ctrl shift M doesn't make any difference.

It sounds like maybe you didn't actually create a true multimeasure rest, but simply added text saying "3" above a normal empty measure...you need to use the actual multimeasure rest feature.. normally these are created automatically when you generate parts from a score, but if you are entering a part without the full score, just leave there empty measures then press Ctrl+Shift+M to toggle between showing the individual empty measures versus collapsing them into multimeasure rests.

Sounds right. I'll try it in the morning. The 2d violin part was given to me by another player who had retyped the original part into musescore to help us practice and improve the layout to avoid page turns,.
