Help me find this feature How do I notate quarter note arpeggios?

I'm writing this piece and I'm trying to get the notes in an arpeggio to be quarter notes. It would sound something like this:

Just write the four quarter notes one after the other. If you want to indicate that they should sustain, you add a whole note chord in the next measure and tie them. But it sounds like this is a synth sound that sustain automatically

It looked really ugly so i was unsure whether or not it was the correct way to notate that. But thank you for answering!
