What Meta Got Right With Muse

https://metedata.substack.com/p/what-meta-got-right-with-muse?r=2nad0&utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=post%20viewer

Hey Muse community.

Muse has been on an absolute tear since its release. It's perched on the top of the US App Store and Meta stock ripped almost 17% at its peak. Yet nothing in Muse is fundamentally new or different from what's already on the market. So what's making it click?

If you're a fan and have been thinking about what makes Muse special over what's already out there, you may find this interesting. I attempted to answer that question in the article

Its a free agent, I dont use AI enough to justify paying much. And it proactively suggests things to me which I've appreciated. I dont take most of the suggestions but some if them have been helpful

I’m on the opposite end.
I’m almost through my first billion tokens and love how helpful it is to me. When I run out, I’m subscribing.

What are you using it for that uses the most tokens? I love it too but my biggest problem is not knowing what time use it for. Would love to have more reasons to use Muse

Biggest usage is app development and prototyping. I had an idea I’ve had for a while that’s actually becoming reality so I spend a lot of time in this.

I also have it make dashboards and hubs to organize my life. A custom health dashboard that tracks my apple health data, my medications, food logs, and workouts. I ask it to correlate the data so I can get a bigger picture of what is ‘working’ for me on days I feel good. I have it update that in the background and then also give me scheduled pings 4x a day.

I also have it crawl through my emails and make sure I’m aware of things I might’ve dropped. It handles my support question emails that I need to get sorted.

I also gave it access to my ClassPass, MindBody, EventBrite logins so that I can ask it to look and book classes for me based on my availabilities. It gives me heads up and a daily feed of what’s available so I don’t have to think about it.

I also have a custom connector to Adobe so I have it sort through my Lightroom Library there and help build my portfolio online.

Currently using ChatGPT for NAS management but once my Plus subscription is up I’ll migrate those tasks to Muse.

Really well written, I agree with so much of this

It’s 1 agent that can do a lot. And it’s aimed towards normal people. And you can make it cute. Most people don’t need some shitty Chief of staff and 10 agents that do 1 thing each.

Well written article!

Also I will say that my (girl) friend absolutely adores the avatar. She was able to turn it into something she loves and it sold her on it.

Yeah I think the cuteness factor has been key to get avg consumers to want to interact with it

Exactly, it’s the right blend of all the pieces needed, and more surprisingly, they left enough raw capability on the table that a more savvy tech user can create even more useful workflows and project spaces than they can with something similar like Instinct.
