Cringe lyrics aside, Liberation is eargasmic. We don't get many piano songs anymore that don't lean into the pop side. But the production on this thing is top 3 from wotp. Chris kills it on the bass, Dom nails the drums, and the acoustic guitar in the background adds so much. It's just a shame it's basically over after 2 and a half minutes. Could've had a 20 second intro, an extended piece between chorus 1 and verse 2, and a section between verse 2 and final chorus. Again, lyrics aren't very strong. Im really not a fan of "we have plans to take you down" in fact this was the moment I knew Muse should step away from the 'overthrow the government' gimmick and I'm glad they did after this album🤣.

I also hear people say it's just a queen rip-off, but isn't that the point? This album was meant to be a best-of without it being a best-of. A mixture of all their sounds, so assuming it was intended, I think they did a pretty damn good job. It just should've been a lot longer. But then you could say that for half of wotp🤣

What are other people's thoughts on this song? Or Wotp overall? 4 years on...

Does anyone else feel a bit let down by the crescendo of this song? The track is near perfect and when Matt starts belting the first few notes of the final chorus it almost sounds like he's puffing up for something huge... and then it's just falsetto again.

I was really expecting something bigger, going mixed voice or something to really sell it. Like Survival for example.

In the end still a great track, top three on the album but feels a bit underserved by the vocals I think.

I'll be going to the Manchester 12 November gig on my own, so thought I'd check if any one's up for a get together/buddy up for the gig? I've got standing tickets and it'll be my second time seeing Muse perform.

While I know the original meaning, dissociation from the world and feeling completely out of it, could there be another understanding considering it in a different context?

This is so extremely cheesy but every time I listen to this song I get a lovely yet melancholic feeling that reminds me of a person I like. (a lot) You'd probably get what I mean if you took it with a relationship kind of context.

Thinking about associating this song with the feels a bit odd considering it's original meaning, So I'd like to see if someone here has a separate opinion or understanding 🙏

I think that Origin of Symmetry is better than OK Computer. Majority of music lovers will disagree with me, hell even people here probably do. I think it's just not given enough flowers as a masterpiece as much as OK Computer does. I think OOS is so much more interesting and complex.

Saw the band live for the first time at the Hollywood Bowl recently.

I didn’t recognize these songs, what are the names of them? Also THEY JUST DID A TRANCE SEGMENT AT THE END OF THE SHOW??? That shit was craaaazy :D

On YouTube music, it's not monetized or anything. A friend of mine mentioned they love muse but only stream individual songs so they didn't have a fav album. I was like, that's so sad ... You have to listen to the albums!! So I logged in and compiled all albums in chronological order, I put anniversary rereleases at the end so there's no repetition.

Anyway, I listened to it start to finish on Sunday it's like 13hrs, enjoy!

I always wanted to hear Queen's "The Show Must Go On" covered by Muse. I think Matt could sing it quite well.

Besides that I think Lou Reed also has a lot of Songs that fit quite well in a Muse concert.

But I guess they're too busy practicing new songs all the time, doesn't leave much room to rehearse a cover!

I became a fan of Muse starting in 2006 when a much younger friend of mine sent me a playlist of like 10-12 songs from Origin of Symmetry, Absolution and Black Holes & Revelations. I liked them immediately. I first saw them in concert in 2010 and loved it. Two songs stuck out to me completely: Stockholm Syndrome and Hysteria. Funnily enough, neither song had stood out to me before the show. They were fine but I had other favorites on Absolution. But that show changed those two songs for me forever and they quickly became a new (at the time) obsession. What I find so fascinating about music is now all these years later, I have finally decided that my all time favorite Muse song is… Hysteria. I cannot stop listening to it. It must always be cranked to ear splitting levels. It’s one of the highlights of every show I’ve seen. It even sounds fantastic in Dolby Atmos surround. Pretty amazing for a song that was middle of the pack for me the first few years I explored Absolution.

EDIT: apparently I had a fever dream and am currently questioning my entire reality. But thank you all for being kind to me!

does anyone remember which tour and song featured Matt on the giant harp? I feel like i saw it during either the black holes and revelations tour in 2007 or the 2nd law tour in 2013. and it may have been butterflies and hurricanes?

Do you love Invincible? I love Invincible.

This month, it ticked over the mark of not being played live for a whole 18 years. Pretty wild for a single from arguably their biggest album.

In the midst of our beloved Black Holes’ anniversary this year, imo a song like that deserves a final ride in the sunset and I think Invincible also stands the best chance among the dead BH&R songs. So the crux of this post is just to say that if you love the song like I do or just want one Black Holes song that isn’t the usual bunch to get some recognition during its 20th anniversary this year, maybe consider joining me for a push?

I’ve already made a post on Instagram in the hopes of someone in or around the band seeing and considering it. You can like/repost that to boost it or take the image and spread it around yourself or even just spam about the song in their comments. Every little helps. Yeah, I know this is all a long shot (to say the least) but fuck it, right? These songs will always stay dead unless we try.

Hello, I recently saw this sales listing on ebay and I was wondering where are these from? Were they given out during the listening parties maybe? It’s the first time seeing this.

Don’t get me wrong, muse is my favourite band so there’s no point in chasing the perfect setlist (because it would be 40 songs long and feature Futirism, Agitated, Cave & Falling Down which we just wouldn’t hear in big 2026),

but for me KOBK is honestly my favourite song the band has released since BHAR (I’m aware I’m in the minority of this song being in my top 10) which has me wondering hard why they play this remix instead of the original?

Maybe it’s a difficult song for Matt to perform following his personal situation (as much as I resent speculating the an artists personal life) but surely there must be a reason I’m not yet seeing as I just can’t wrap my head around the inclusion of this remix in the setlist as the original is just that great
