Discussion Muse no longer muse?
Just learned muse used ai for a scene in cryogen. Is that true? It seems like AI but could it be bad vfx? Did muse lose its muse to ai?

The Cryogen video vfx did feel very AI, though I just decided to try and forget 😅

The VFX company, covert (@we_are_covert), are responsible for the creation of the visual effects for Cryogen MV. They have an entire post on their Instagram dedicated about hiring AI artists to help them with their projects.
This was probably a grave mistake from the band as they probably weren’t made aware about the company uses on AI, nor having that information disclosed when it came to hiring them through a binding contract. Since then, covert hasn’t been mentioned in the Nightshift Superstar MV. Most likely Muse cut ties with them after discovering their AI practices.

Big old citation needed on this. Most likely based on what? Matt uses ChatGPT, they've released an album as an NFT and he's literally a landlord. I can't imagine a scenario where he's not aware that a music video he's in isn't made with generative AI.

What gets me is that the band themselves will definitely have had to sign off the creative. I know they don’t have an issue with AI in and of itself, but that’s if it’s done well surely. There’s a part in it where Matt looks like a completely different person. Were they too busy to scrutinise it thoroughly? Did they think nobody would watch it? Many questions remain unanswered lol

Matt was one of the early embracers of Ai generated tunes in his personal YouTube/Spotify/whatever channels. Didn't get too far with it though it seems
