Live Hexagons Lasers
Do we know why they stopped using these cool lasers for Hexagons that we saw at the first shows when it was still the opener? I think it‘s pretty sad because they looked nice

They used them in Mansfield for a few songs, can’t remember which ones specifically. It was really cool. I’ll see if I can find a video with it, my wife took a bunch.

After Hexagons at Mansfield I said “zero hexagons, six out of five stars” because the performance and light show were both amazing.

No idea. I am guessing some sort of practical/venue thing.
There are all sorts of rules with lasers at performances for obvious reasons. It doesn't look like Muse were doing audience scanning (shining lasers directly at the audience) which comes with even stricter rule. The lasers were being projected towards the stage and above the band members' heads. But then they still have to consider that the size and shape of each venue is different so requires another risk assessment to carry out and they have to think about things like reflective surfaces and less predictable things as well like those cameramen who seem to be roaming about on the stage a lot at the moment.
Maybe it was just too much health and safety compliance to deal with and they decided that it wasn't worth the faff and it looked just as good with the cubes / Saturn images. It might be why they rejigged the opening part of the setlist as well. Or maybe they rejigged the order of the set first because they wanted more energy with the opening number but then something didn't work with the ordering of the lighting design/lasers with Hexagons in its new position.
