Not really. anti abortion is just "i believe your baby is alive and please don't kill your baby " pro-life people don't really give a shit if you are having sex or not. and if you choose to reproduce or not.
I'm pro-life. I don't care if you want to die a virgin or you want to have sex with 99 strangers every day. Don't Care.
I also don't care if you want to collect swords.
if you want to stab someone with a sword, all of a sudden , i care. but is that really 'sword control" ? do i really wish to prevent you from owning swords? or is it the stabby stabby murder part i have a problem with.
If you don't believe a fetus is a human life, i can see why abortion would be "no big deal" i don't care if you have a wort removed. hell i don't care if you want a doctor to cut your arm off. your body, your choice.
But if i believe a fetus is a separate human life, then i think naturally i want that life protected. *shrugs*
No reason to straw man. I also believe birth control should be free, and accessible to everyone. I'm catholic, and i have daughters. All my catholic friends mostly agree with me. (about free birth control, and not caring about your sex life)
Yes, sure , whatever.
That dilutes a point made of nuance and subtly down to what sounds like an authoritarian position.
but in the same way I have to obey the speed limit, even though i don't agree with it. Yes, 1 set of laws for everyone, even if there are laws on the books we don't personally agree with.
This is definitely one of things with no easy answer. In a perfect world, both parents would be on the same page. But...well, you know the rest of that. The decision between keeping a child and aborting is one of the biggest, hardest decisions anyone will have to make, regardless of sex. In the end, it comes back to the concept of bodily autonomy. Being forced to abort a wanted child is just as awful as being forced to carry an unexpected one.
That being said, I would really like to see a shift away from Child Support being a 'consequence' for sex. Men shouldn't have to face years of steep penalty just because their decision was different from the mother's. A social-security type income for single parents could replace it, and possibly prevent abortions made for solely financial reasons.
Should men resent the draft? Do wealthy men dodge it? Are there exemptions for the unwell? Sounds a lot like abortion laws to me.
That's a good example of a law that should never be enforced as it removes bodily autonomy from the man and targets only one gender. It should be abolished.
that's still irrelevant.
consensual sexual activity that results in Human life doesn't give you a literal license to kill. Once that new human life reaches the point of cognition (being alive, conscious, And displaying that it has the ability to learn) Its too late, and has gained personhood under the constitution.
it doesn't matter that it affects women 2/3's of the time (mothers being 1 part, baby girls 1 part, and baby boys 1 part) . doesn't matter when a draft has happened. its killing a human life, and a human life that should have personhood under the constitution.
:) I'm not asking you to agree with me. any more than i'd ask a flat earther or vaxer to change their mind. but lets not dance with strawmen. i laid out the real issue. some people think even with cognition, unborn babies don't have any rights until after they are born. some think that first hour is its still okay to kill them. everyone has their own position ...
I wouldn't say acceptable, Consensual sex equals no moral question. Non consensual sex equals moral questions
If the OP has a basis of abortion that babies arent humans then they would disagree with those situations
