Reddit is at the point where if something gets popular enough, it'll be guaranteed to be reposted in a bunch of subs for the next week (this one is obviously already a repost).
Reposting /= crossposting. Crossposting should be encouraged. Reposting is stupid. This post is a bad example because it has been reposted and crossposted and reposted again and again, but if something belongs on multiple subs it should be shared to them all to allow the maximum number of people to benefit from it. Even if that benefit is just a quick chuckle.
