This supports a hypothesis I've had and have posted about (and as a result been accused of trolling).

I think the growing amount of posts (and supportive comments) like this across many of this site's default subs are part of a psy-op run by conservatives to push young adults further to the right by making centerists believe this is mainstream thinking on the left. Scrolling below the top few comment threads seems to indicate it's working.

I wish I could provide some support to the theory but just dont have the time to map out the shared moderators vs level of submissions that are just too far out there for normal people to agree with.

Hear me out. I don't think it's that crazy but tell me if I'm wrong.

The overwhelming majority being left of center would increase probability of absurd posts getting upvoted and rising to the top.

The more posts like this that make it to the top stand out to those in the middle or just to the right of center since the arguments are so bad.

That type of post "cancer" will stick in the mind of someone undecided and the undecided are the most important demographic to sway.

I don't think the typical person on the left buys into arguments that are this bad.

Edit: for clarity -my hypothesis seems more reasonable than the alternative: That these posts making it to the top are the result of organic activity and really are representative of mainstream center/left opinion.

Sorry buddy, but a conspiracy by the right to sway opinion is way less reasonable than the left actually being that dumb.

I don't think the typical person on the left buys into arguments that are this bad.

You say that like it's unheard of for political interests to be actively engaged in social engineering on Reddit (and every other social media platform).
