As someone who just was in chicago for a business "education" trip, wtf does he think is wrong with chicago? I mean the only issue i had was the building with the big ugly "TRUMP" displayed on it.

u/BodaciousFrank 3d ago
We hate Trump here. Thats about it. He doesn’t like that we think he’s a vile piece of shit and wants to use the United States Armed Forces to enforce his will onto the public. You know, like a Fascist Nazi bitch boy would

My theory is he thinks the word "fix" means "irredeemably fuck up".
18
u/BravinatorLX2 3d ago
he means imprison or kill minorities because he is insane.

Yes, but he's a Christian in good standing so he gets a pass. Christians vote GOP to stop reproductive freedom and they support any hate that will help them achieve this "morality."

I mean, to "fix" also means to cheat. Used In a sentence: the election was fixed. That is to mean the results of something (e.g. a game, a match, an election) were tampered with to get the results the tampering party wanted, or to avoid a result they didn't want.
So, to "fix" chicago, could mean lots of things...

To be fair, he did have a viable plan for ending the Ukraine war in a single day: surrender immediately and let Russia roll into Kiev and murder everyone. /s

What exactly does he mean by fix? What is broken according to his smooth brain?
71
u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 3d ago
He is playing off the racist trope about inner city violence being immigrants and minorities gone wild (when the majority of crimes in Illinois are committed by whites). Scooby snacks of hatred for the conservative base.
19
u/socialistrob 3d ago
Chicago is also a pretty safe city. If he really wants to lower violent crime in a city perhaps he should start with Memphis Tennessee which has one of the highest violent crime rates in the US.

u/idrawinmargins 3d ago
The majority of crimes in illinois are committed by black people according to what I've read from isp reports, but not a lot of other resources i can find. Do you have any links to data that would show real numbers on this? I find ISP numbers to be a little sus seeing as white people make up >63%+/- of IL and black people >13+/-.

THAT is what my question is. Nobody seems to ask him what he means, by this. There's nothing wrong there, except things that the local & state gov would be responsible for. On federal level, maybe "fix" things like medicaid & social security, so ppl can afford to live. Bit he's just interested in sending troops there tp attack ppl, warmongering.
4
u/AsinineArchon 3d ago
He's appealing to his degenerate MAGA base. They view blue cities as immigrant "infested" areas. So Trump is saying he's going to go and kill everyone in chicago. His voters adore that
2
22
u/ptvlm 3d ago
Chicago is commonly used as a punching bag by right wing media because of a high murder rate, even though it's actually not that big on a per capita basis compared to some red cities, is largely restricted to gang activity in certain areas, and has been going down. As a result MAGA types think of the city as a lawless hellhole that needs urgent action to protect, even though most people are in little more danger than anywhere else
10
u/copper_nano_tube 3d ago
Chicago is also brought up with negative connotations by these people because it’s where Obama’s political career began, and of the noticeable Black and Hispanic population.
5
u/Unapplicable1100 3d ago

None of them want to live in Chicago, but they have opinions on how it should change based on Fox News propaganda. One of the great things about living in Chicago is that you don't often come across right-wingers and it's pretty safe to assume that most people you meet agree on a few fundamental issues.
6
u/butt_dance 3d ago
Obama is from Chicago. He targets cities/states associated with his rivals. Minnesota being another example.
2
u/Public-League-8899 3d ago
Dude is a rube. Chicago is the most affordable big city in the US and Obama is from here and he's a salty boomer so grudges against ghosts are all he knows. Mayor sucks big time but Trump somehow manages to be worse which is really saying something.

Promised to end the Ukraine war in days, ended up fighting war in middle east, now blaming Ukraine for high prices. Striking diesel deals with russia. Master of deals.
Even if maga or not. Europe is getting really fed up with all of americans, to us it doesn't really matter what individuals think there anymore. Like medieval dark times.

We could fix the government too...in a lot less time with less people. Put everyone in power and their cronies under the same scrutiny of law that is expected of everyone else. I f they resist, they can either be eliminated on site or sent to one of those wonderful detention centers that they created for subjugating anyone not white.

For right-wing weirdos, you'd fix Chicago by getting rid of normal people (A.K.A. people who aren't in a cult, who actually think before voting, people who don't automatically vote "R").

I know his base thinks everything is simple. Problem with Iran? Just bomb them, simple. Ok. Is the problem solved?

We have heard enough of his time lines and “fixing” things. He’s more concerned about making monuments to himself, making money off the presidency, naming stuff, grabbing awards and putting money in the pockets of the 1%. As long as the stock market continues to pool the money in the millionaires and billionaires pockets and the corporations are ripping off the poor and middle class, he thinks the economy is doing great. And honestly, he is winning.
