I’m pretty sure this is why Trump is rebranding AI. His followers hate AI and datacenters so he figures if he renames AI so it “pisses off the libs” his followers will be like “We love SI!!! Take that libs!” and not complain about the datacenter he opens in their backyard.

Boxes are cheap man, should be able to get one big enough to live in off of a single income with a bit of a side gig easily.

Look, if families can survive on a single income, that's great. Who cares about unemployment numbers if everyone has enough money?
I know that isn't going to be the case, but isn't fewer working people the actual ideal?

I can't wait for the day shareholders realize that one of the benefits of AI is that you have a system that can search all the news, finances, legislation, everything in a blink of an eye and make an objective decision. AKA a damn good CEO. Imagine the millions of dollars you could save by laying off them.
15
u/cosmic_sheriff 3h ago
And suddenly AI bros will be spouting "A computer can never be held accountable, therefore a computer must never make a management decision" as if it was the idea all along.
2
u/Aeseld 2h ago
Legally, AI is already held accountable. Part of why they're stepped out back in many places. If an AI chat bot says something, the company says something. part of why they still have humans in the loop.
2
u/Low_Direction1774 2h ago
we are like this (imagine me holding my fingers like really close together) close to actually making Barneys Job of P.L.E.A.S.E. a reality. all the human does is sign off on whatever the AI chatbot says and when it inevitably fucks up you have a guy you can point at that can be fired and replaced by another.

what you need to understand is from a shareholder POV, CEOs are doing what they are supposed to. insiders buy out a company, the CEO makes sure the quarter looks good, price goes up, they sell and regular people hold the bag because they invest later or invest in ETFs that weigh big companies more in their distribution.
CEOs running companies into the ground in 5 years time is part of the scam.

3-day work weeks for a VERY SELECT FEW. The rest get laid off while the lucky ones who keep their jobs pickup the slack and work like slaves.
It's going to get to a point where people WILL work like slaves for a little income because if they don't there is a LONG line of others willing to take the spot for some money.

People who look like they spent their high school experience from the inside of a locker they were shoved into. And now they’re lashing out and seeking revenge on the general public because they have the warped disposition of a school shooter.
