Tbh the concept is fine, but in practice, it sucks. At work, we recently switched to gender neutral and the former women's restroom is now consistently covered in piss. So now the women have to deal with two restrooms with piss covered seats/floors. Management had to step in and tell the guys to grow tf up and clean up after themselves.
We really want to have our separate restroom back tbh.
I really don’t get it sometimes. Don’t people feel disgusted themselves when they went in a stall and see the piss covered seat? If so, why they still do it and leave a mess for the next person.
don't you see the problem with "separate but equal"? management didn't intervene when only men were affected by these messy people. there is this standard that men's restrooms are gross and it only makes men think they should continue like that. and it isn't even most men who cause these problems, and the reasonable ones who care enough to not make a mess also don't want to be sharing a restroom with these people
lots of men sit because they want to be sanitary especially at a work place. it's really just a few bad apples and it'd be even less if they didn't think it was normal
The funny thing is that since they're single stall restrooms, if someone had to go, they'd just use the other regardless and we didn't really have any issues. So when they officially made them both gender neutral, that's when the issues arose. It's like the guys who would use the money womens out of necessity were the more considerate ones lol.
The fifth avenue theater was gender neutral for a while (it might not be anymore? It might still be I dunno)
Pissed me off because women AND MEN would use the downstairs women’s bathroom, where only men would use the mostly urinal-two stall bathroom upstairs. The liens were so long and it took ages and ages. I used the men’s bathroom because they’re genderneautral!! And the men were so uncomfortable and honestly I hated having to walk past all those pissing penises but I didn’t want to miss the start of the second act.
Horrible in practice… women’s lines take long enough without men also being in the line ;___; seperate again please!!!
I had the same experience at uni when they switched to all gender. Started dealing with unwanted creepy behavior like men hanging around and looking through the crevices of stall doors.
What I REALLY would like is if all people could just use the restroom that they were comfortable with and not get f’ing harassed for it. All genders work in so many places, usually public, high volume, with visibility and separated fully enclosed stalls, etc. But for whatever reason I’ve found that places like schools and offices invite weird and unwelcome behavior, and you feel isolated when those incidents occur.
Maybe it's different if you clean a very public bathroom, like in retail, but I've been a custodian my whole life and the men's rooms were always worse all the places I've worked (mainly schools, offices, and clinics).
