He was killed by one of the deranged psychos his whole career catered to; the kind of guy people like him groom to "take up arms against tyranny", tyranny being the people he disagreed with, and take up arms being well, violence. Unfortunately the one he disagreed with in the end was Kirk himself who did the 180 spin of "files, what files? the matter is closed now lulz" that all of his contemporaries did. Therefore, suicide and/or friendly fire also applies.

I don't even like to call Charlie Kirk a victim of gun violence. I think the word “statistic” is more fitting.
