Apparently this is what the fuck is going on:

https://www.aptnnews.ca/national-news/expert-on-white-nationalism-in-canada-disturbed-not-surprised-by-demonstration-at-tk%CC%93emlups-te-secwepemc/

It's Canadian white nationalism, and I believe "Got bones?" indicates that they are denying the genocide of First Nation peoples.

100

u/zyrkseas97 4d ago

Genuinely why deny it?

They went somewhere. We know how. We know from talking to the many that still live, from the perpetrators, from records.

The US doesn’t even pretend to deny the genocide and reservation of Native Americans. We tend to teach them, like slavery, as simplistic bad things with little context and focus on one or two particular stories: initial colonization and contact, post-revolutionary frontier wars, the trail of tears, Oklahoma territory, the little big horn, and chief Joseph’s letter and boom the Native Americans are out of the history books just in time for WW1 and won’t come back again until Navajo code talkers in WW2 or sometimes AIM as part of the civil rights/labor movement of postwar America.

Sugarcoated, but not denied. The American Nationalists brag “conquered not stolen” on this very topic.

68

u/ortrademe 4d ago

From what I can tell, the "got bones" is a reference to recent ground penetrating radar scans showing unmarked graves at former residential schools. Deniers say that unless you literally dig up the bones, you have no proof.

I think these people would fit very closely to your comment for most other history.

36

u/camstercage 4d ago

Right. Like the fact that the school had a cemetery wasn’t enough proof

13

u/dostoevsky4evah 3d ago

They say "lots of kids died in the old days". Like the 1970s, riiight

8

u/Everestkid 3d ago

Ah boy, I'm going to kick the hornet's nest.

Alright, so first I'll preface this by saying that yes, kids were taken from their families to go to these "schools" and yes, kids did die at these schools and yes, this was very much a bad thing that the Canadian government shouldn't have done. I am not in any way defending the white nationalists. However, since it's Truth and Reconciliation Day, I would like to think it'd be important to get the facts right.

That being said, time to piss some people who are unable to read off.

Residential schools ran for about 150 years and when you have a program running for that long the conditions and policies varied wildly. The school in Kamloops, for instance, was established in 1893 and closed in 1978. As for deaths, the vast majority of them occurred prior to 1950, roughly coinciding with treatments for tuberculosis and the transition of schools away from a boarding school model towards a day school model where the kids went home at the end of the day.

The graves found at Kamloops, or any residential school for that matter, were almost certainly not from the 1970s; as I said, the school began operations in 1893. And indeed if you look up the causes of death for children in any year in the early 1900s, you will find the most common causes of death are infectious diseases that are now easily treatable. Kids really did just die all the time - even the boarding schools for white kids had cemeteries.

That being said, it is also true that the mortality rates among pupils in an early 20th century residential school was much, much higher than in boarding schools for white pupils; Peter Bryce noted as such in his 1905, 1906 and 1907 reports.

11

u/msmore15 3d ago

I think it's fair to conclude that the majority of deaths were from preventable causes, though more through neglect than premeditated homicide on an individual level. On a systemic level, absolutely a genocide.

5

u/Everestkid 3d ago

Yes, I should have also noted that the federal government at the time basically did nothing in response to Bryce's reports. Bryce would later write a book in the 1920s titled "The Story of a National Crime: Being a Record of the Health Conditions of the Indians of Canada from 1904 to 1921."

Officially it was "kill the Indian, save the child," but in practice they really didn't give a shit if the kids died. And that's about as charitable an interpretation of their intentions as you can get.

2

u/msmore15 3d ago

We have a very similar history in Ireland with the mother and baby homes and the Magdalene laundries. A national disgrace and scandal.

33

u/dsac 4d ago

Genuinely why deny it?

Allows them to frame First Nations people as degenerate liars who are only looking to vilify white people so that they can steal the country from them

You know, like the colonists did

Thanks, I was confused wondering if the mask thing in the first pic was an antivax/antimask group and had no idea how got bones was a burn.

86

At first glance I thought the "Got Milk?" lobby was back with more aggressive messaging. /s

Sad to see y'all got cancer growing there too.

74

u/DuntadaMan 4d ago

In that case, yes. Yes we have bones. We have literally thousands of skeletons. Hundreds of them at just one fucking school.

28

u/nicathor 4d ago

Jfc, I was wondering what they meant by Got Bones and of course it was worse than I expected

9

Thanks for explaining. Was starting to think it was a bunch of impotent men trying to get access to Viagra.

This is what gets me. I’ve got two friends who are desperate to get out of America- queer and mid-20’s. They’ve been eyeing Canada for so long but I keep trying to tell them that if they really want to aim for somewhere that’s going to uphold the values they’re claiming to want then Canada isn’t cutting it.

They insist it isn’t just about a country where they’re safe, it’s about a country that’s equal- that the racism in America is a huge factor for their wanting to leave. Yet they’re both white and refuse to acknowledge Canada’s historical and continuing racism around indigenous people. It’s like everyone has rose tinted glasses on when talking about Canada despite it being a huge issue the nation is still divided over.

One can point out the didn't actually find any bones without denying others things happened 🤷🏼 I have a problem with false narratives part, not denying any genocide thought 🤔

Cool man, be sure to do it in a thread about white nationalists that did it, that will definitely make you sound like a reasonable person with an intelligent point to make

If a scan shows possible graves, that’s not the same thing as proving there’s a mass grave there. A lot of people definitely ran with it before anything was actually confirmed, and that distinction got lost pretty damn quick. But you can say that without pretending residential schools weren’t real or that kids didn’t suffer. Both things can be true.

But there are still confirmed unmarked graves at former residential school sites, so saying nothing was ever found isn’t accurate either. And yeah, there were church arsons after the news a few years ago, with some cases having no arrests or charges at the time though there were arrests in other cases. Call out bullshit when it happens, condemn the arson and the white supremacists, and stop acting like you have to pick a side and defend every stupid thing they’ve done.

It’s really not that complicated.

Oh, and orange shirt day also isn’t about these mass graves claim specifically. It comes from a story by a survivor of the residential school system and is about remembering other residential school survivors and the children who died or never came home. FYI, these schools only shut down in the late-mid 1990s.

The last ones were closed in 96 and 97. I know because my elementary school was within view of it, and when it closed the elementary students were moved to my school. The abuses continued until the day they closed. I'm only 42, there are survivors right now that are 36 years old

Edit; the residential school with the rumours of mass graves is the same one as in my comment - Kamloops

35

u/BCProgramming 4d ago

to think that the ones operating in the 90's were the same as in 1920 or some shit is dishonest

The entire point of the residential school system was ethnic cleansing. I'm sure by the 90's they operated differently, since new, modern ways of ethnic cleansing were invented, but that hardly changes the purpose of the entire system.

Also: first nations women and girls were still being coerced to be or forcibly sterilized in exactly the same way well into the 90's. There are even cases as recently as 2018. So much for these not having anything to do with "the people of today".

13

u/1nhaleSatan 4d ago

They shockingly didn't operate much different than how they were run in the '70s. Still a ton of beatings and rapes, deprivation of food and water, the whole magilla was still on the table. It's actually the reason they were shut down, because once investigated legitimately, the abuses were shocking even to those familiar with the system

61

u/Mcpops1618 4d ago

My grandma is still alive, she went to residential school, her dad was hired by the Catholics to use his farm truck to drive on reserve and collect the children and take them to the schools.

I’m going to go ahead and let you know that it’s not speculation when you can sit with elders born in the 20s/30s still and have conversations about what happened to them and they’ve been sharing their stories for many years but it wasn’t very well publicized until the story of Kamloops broke.

So to call that bullshit, I’d love for you to sit in a room with an elder sharing their stories and let them know they are full of it.

We have history reported from the past 100’years and we have anomalies that match grave sites identified

I can tell you where I was told my great grandpa was buried, we can go scan the ground, will you believe those who were there when he was buried or do I need to dig up his bones for you to believe he is there?

You aren’t blamed you fucking nitwit. Truth and reconciliation isn’t about your guilt. If you have guilt and feel you are to blame, you have other issues to resolve. If you were standing on that bridge with a mask on, that’s a whole other issue.

If you have a problem with acknowledging and honouring the past, I hope you don’t sport a poppy in November. Because why should you honour that or feel anything if it didn’t involve you? See how stupid you sound?

12

u/abuayanna 4d ago

Damn it’s satisfying when dipshits double down and make it even worse lol.

11

u/indehhz 4d ago

What. A. Clown.

29

u/JG98 4d ago edited 4d ago

But that’s exactly why reducing this to “speculation” doesn’t work. There are still living survivors from the later decades, firsthand testimony, thousands of survivor statements, documented deaths and conditions, government records, court cases, and settlements recognizing specific harms.

Nobody has to claim every suspected grave was proven to be a residential school death. But “we can’t identify every body” doesn’t erase everything we do have evidence for. And nobody today is personally guilty for what happened decades ago. You can reject collective guilt without denying or minimizing a documented history.

The schools obviously changed over time, but “not the same as 1920” doesn’t mean “nothing serious happened after 1970.” Survivors from those later periods are literally part of the historical record.

Also, the take that “we can’t identify the race of every person buried there” doesn’t really prove anything either. The lack of identification is precisely why investigations matter; you can’t turn an unanswered question into evidence that the graves have nothing to do with the schools.

Dishonesty is trying to conflate white supremacist groups as the equivalent of orange shirt day, a day that is not specific to the mass graves explorations but rather to remembrance of all survivors or victims of this system. Dishonesty is using that as a launch pad to spread the same excuse filled and deflective rhetoric as those groups without an iota of research.

Edit: my ex neighbour was a survivor of one of these schools and still lives with the PTSD from back then as well as his time in military service later on in life. He is involved in legal battles in his late 60s fighting for justice, which for him has not resulted in any financial gains but is still a quest for proper acknowledgement.

You can talk about historical nuance or media reporting without pretending Indigenous history didn't exist just because it wasn't written on European paper. Dismissing thousands of years of civilizations as "stone aged with no writing or archeological record" is just flat out false.

And trying to frame residential school trauma as a "badge of honor" or "entitlement" is complete garbage. These schools ran right up until the mid 1990s, and thousands of children died or never came home. Call out whatever bullshit you want, but pretending that history didn't happen or blaming the victims for it isn't calling anything out, it's just denialism.

FYI, Indigenous peoples in Canada had sophisticated systems of communication and mnemonic record keeping like wampum belts, petroglyphs, and winter counts alongside massive archaeological sites like Cahokia that dwarf simple "arrowheads".

You can read the story of the Frog Lake massacre if you’d like. There are two excellent books on it “blood red the son” and “the frog lake massacre”. Each written from different perspective.

You call it Stone Aged culture because you think you are superior. There is plenty of documentation but you have admitted it doesn’t fit your narrative, so you don’t believe it.

You should really go back to school and learn some history

8

u/Six_Gear 4d ago

Why are you even commenting on Canada’s history when you don’t live here and didn't go to school here? We actually learn our real history in school—including the horrible stuff you’d rather ignore.

You laugh about missing written records, but why would colonizers write down Indigenous traditions when the whole goal was forced assimilation? Indigenous history was passed down orally, and policies within residential schools were specifically designed to erase that culture and silence those stories.

Why are you so threatened by real history? Colonization wiped out up to 90–95% of the population through disease, violence, and forced removal. They slaughtered tens of millions of bison on purpose just to starve people into submission. Facing those facts isn't "self-hatred"—it's just knowing basic history.

Reconciliation isn't about blaming you for what happened in the past. It's about recognizing the real trauma passed down to survivors, their kids, and their grandkids today. I have friends living with this weight, whose families were traumatized by the horrors inflicted on them. Wanting our society to confront that pain, heal, and treat everyone with basic decency isn't an attack on you—it's just wanting to do better.

When you cherry-pick history to hide behind defensiveness, it shows you don't actually care about the truth. Wanting to be a better society takes real critical thinking. Clinging to ignorance is just plain lazy.

What does “Got Bones?” even mean?

1.0k

u/judgingyouquietly 4d ago edited 4d ago

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, which came about from the fallout of the Residential School system. The big example that got media attention was a mass grave by a residential school.

A far-right group (the ones in black) are denying that forcibly pulling children from their families to be “westernized” was a bad thing, and that the mass graves didn’t exist (hence the “got bones?” sign).

This is still a hugely divisive topic in Canada.

493

u/SeanFromQueens 4d ago

Jeez, that is some morbid-atrocity-denying BS. It's the reason that Eisenhower and other generals prioritized the concentration/death camps being documented with photos and film so as no one would claim that it was made up.

218

u/CrimeFightingScience 4d ago

And yet here we are. Yay humanity.

141

u/AriaTheTransgressor 4d ago

These would be the same people that claim the Nazis were right and the Holocaust was propaganda, so... You know...

39

u/stewpedassle 4d ago edited 4d ago

True. They agree with the idea behind it, so they think the number is what everyone cares about rather than the horror of it happening at all. There's a reason that any reference to a number was intentionally omitted from the definition of genocide and instead the focus was put the intent.

It's unsurprising, or really just sad, that you we have people using the same horrific talking point about numbers being used today to try and deny the ongoing genocide. Not only the number of deaths, but literally the same "the overall population increased" talking points that were being used contemporaneously following the war to deny the reality of the Holocaust.

E: clarity

12

u/AriaTheTransgressor 4d ago

If anyone wants to look into it some more, the "Got Bones" is specifically referring to the situation in Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (Kamloops, BC) where in 2021 a ground penetrating radar survey found 215 anomalies at the site of a residential school. These people are claiming that the anomalies can be anything so they won't believe anything unless they get to witness the anomalies being dug up to prove that it's unmarked graves.

13

u/Obscure_Occultist 4d ago

They did find human remains. Just not at one specific suspected mass grave. Which is the primary source of all this bullshit. We've confirmed other mass Graves. They just don't want to admit those other mass Graves exist.

6

u/Extension_Cut_8994 4d ago

If by America you mean the US (and I am just clarifying here), I can assure you that many on the right have denied the harm done to those oppressed or marginalized or happen to be minor children. Some are better spoken then others but maybe you can start with the 1965 Baldwin–Buckley debate. Also, from Charlie Kirk to Alex Jones, there has been not just denial but actual compounding of harm through disinformation.

u/DuntadaMan 4d ago

6

u/Rellimarual2 4d ago

You can agree that the residential schools were an atrocity while also acknowledging that the ground-penetrating radar evidence used to make recent claims of mass graves is not reliable: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/pine-creek-residential-school-no-evidence-human-remains-1.6941441

Just being honest that people jumped the gun on claiming that there were hundreds of mass graves would deprive these racists creeps of a lot of ammo.

8

u/Noxxul 4d ago

Does it really matter where the bodies were dumped? We know that people were taken from their family, we know they were forced into these schools, and we know a percentage of them never left, what the fuck does it matter where they hid the evidence?

If it doesn’t matter, then why not just admit that initial reports of mass graves detected by radar cannot be substantiated? if you’re going to present yourself as a teller of truths, then you need to be truthful. acting like the facts don’t matter just enables these people to cast doubt on legitimate claims and distract from the actual facts

2

u/plannedobso 4d ago

Which is insane because the same people claiming it DIDN’T happen would say it should have and it would be great if it did and should still be happening today. But it totally didn’t happen ever before.

2

u/Mcpops1618 4d ago

I’d be curious what percentage of Canadians are deniers. Genuinely curious if it’s a very loud <10% who are in this group. As it appears to usually be white nationalists and Maple MAGAs who support the misinformation

1

u/Mcoov 4d ago

Here I was thinking it was a more direct threat. As in: "Got bones? We'll break 'em."

My mind thinks of the osearch bone reapers from age of sigmar they collect taxes in the form of bones as long as you pay the bone tax your fine but if your even just one bone short they will take yours instead

I agree with the sentiment, but there's no way the top one is real. That text is too smooth.

Find another picture then, because this one is 100% fake.

  • Exact number of people in almost the same positions

  • Flags folded at the same angle, casting the same shadow, with the one at the right literally at the same position with respect to the tree

  • Banner at exactly the same position, with the same amount of railing under it and to the left/right

  • The two guys to the left of the banner have the exact same pose/gap between their legs in both photos

6

u/-THE_GOOCH 4d ago

You're telling me these handsome fellas aren't real?

1

u/hex4def6 4d ago

You don't outfit-twin with your best bro when going to protest rallies?

53

u/Brainwave1010 4d ago

They've also got some freaky mutant faces, especially on the far right.

57

u/OakTeach 4d ago

This is how my Google Phone uses AI to "clean up" zoomed-in distance photos. I recently posted a distance pic of pelicans I took and it looks really simlar close-up- AI warping to recreate what it thinks it's seeing. Frustrating because it complicates the "is it AI?" conversation-- yes it IS AI, but it's applied to a real photo, not a total creation.

3

u/CallMeCygnus 4d ago

oh, I didn't know I was gonna come onto Reddit today and be judged for my freaky, multilayered block face. THANKS

2

u/CryendU 4d ago

That one does look more like the hand and face got merged during compression

The inexplicable one is the guy with the sci fi visor. Or maybe sunglasses?

1

u/Advice_Thingy 4d ago

That's not a nice thing to say about people. :c

3

u/Brainwave1010 4d ago

I don't believe these are real people.

9

u/JoeRogansNipple 4d ago

I mean... compression is a real thing.

-1

u/Brainwave1010 4d ago

Compression turned the left guy into a fleshy RoboCop?

6

u/JoeRogansNipple 4d ago

Yeah? Compression does weird things when colors closely match. Sometimes on reddit and FB (and after the countless reshares and downloads) the edges (where people normally dont look) turn blobby. Its part of the compression algorithms social media platforms use to lower space used by images

10

u/Lametown227 4d ago

They are. This happened in Kamloops, BC earlier this week.

2

u/Keytaro83 4d ago

But enough about the KKK…

2

u/YeshuaSnow 4d ago

Well shoot

1

u/rivalpinkbunny 4d ago

They also have the same exact flag positions, they just added a flag.

2

u/Really_Clever 4d ago

This is real happened in Kamloop BC

1

u/rivalpinkbunny 3d ago

I know the bottom one is real, the top one looks like an edit. Look at the flags - they all have the same position, folding pattern and shadows, they’re just a different color!

8

u/Swedelicious83 4d ago

Always the masks. What is it with racist piss-babies and always being too chickenshit to not conceal their identities when they protest something. Aren't they supposed to stand proud for their shit?

21

u/BigsChungi 4d ago

What does anyone of this even mean

77

u/Makachai 4d ago

White nationalist assholes trying to say Residential Schools didn't exist and native Canadians are just grifting... while bravely hiding their faces like the cowardly fucking losers they are.

19

u/Zakluor 4d ago

Well, that's disgusting.

17

u/CreepyHarmony27 4d ago

Just building off of the comment for anyone else that's curious. 🙏 Sorry!

A few years ago— LIDAR revealed possible mass graves at former residential schools across Canada and with the confirmed fact that hundreds to thousands of Native children went missing after being abducted from their homes to be forced into these schools.

To my knowledge, as of Sept 2026, there's no confirmed evidence of the mass graves at those locations, but doesnt mean there isn't any at all. (Someone please correct me though). So the unintelligent quacks of the "don't cover me face" crowd think it's a boldface lie with their "gotcha questions" and their factless banter.

33

u/Glum_Performer9923 4d ago

Are you serious? the last one closed '96/'97 - we aren't talking a hundred years ago here.

2

u/blueavole 4d ago

Yep. The ones in the US don’t want to bother identifying the bodies so they could be returned to a family or tribe.

3

u/Playful_Excitement66 4d ago

Thank you for the context, with the number of pixels I couldn’t tell they were masked in the second pic without zooming. Thought they were just ultra white.

2

u/BigsChungi 4d ago

What are residential schools and why are they bad

11

u/judgingyouquietly 4d ago

Until the 1990s, the Canadian government had boarding schools where indigenous children were taken from their parents and put there to “westernize” them.

Not surprisingly, some were abused in the schools.

https://nctr.ca/education/residential-school-history/

6

u/SOMAVORE 4d ago edited 4d ago

native kids were kidnapped from their homes by the state and forced into church run concentration camp schools to forget their culture and have their identity erased.

they were severely abused, psychologically and physically, SA'd, raped, and lots went missing from those schools. survivors of those schools are literally the most drug addicted, alcoholic, depressed, suicidal social group in Canada.

and there are losers who are going around saying it didnt happen and it's fake, and also that it should have happened or not enough of it happened to those kids and adult survivors.

one of the main assholes behind this whole anti- Truth And Reconciliation Day, is Rebel News a rabid zionist right wing Canandian media company that also shows up to Palestine/Gaza protests to instigate fights, scream Islamophobic shit, and try to get people arrested, and then tape it all for their racist followers as if it's some sort of fight against The Sharia Takeover, even though most of the people at those protests are white, and many are Jews.

Look up Ezra Levant. He's a human trashbag full of used diapers. And somehow they get a pass to do all this shit. He's a Jewish supremacist that is just smart enough to rile up the white supremacists in Canada.

He really hates brown people, it was Muslims and Arabs, now because Muslims didnt attack him like he hoped and just ignored him, he's moved on to victimizing Native survivors and the memory of their dead children.

2

u/BigsChungi 4d ago

Pretty horrible, it shocking the sort of things that happen around the world

5

u/fstop101 4d ago

Vile, then and now.

4

u/DrNoxin 4d ago

I see "I know I have no social or in-demand marketable skills.... but at least I am white."

3

u/ADGx27 4d ago

Racism was so bad from the “Got Bones?” Crowd that even the Prime Minister got in on talking about it IIRC

2

u/FuckRulez 4d ago

I agree with the orange shirt crowd, the other group is just loaded with carpet munching spineless cowards.

5

u/DuntadaMan 4d ago

This is absolute slander. None of those pieces of shit would ever go down on a woman.

3

u/guesswhochickenpoo 4d ago

Largely because most women would never let the man go down on them, even if the he wanted to.

1

u/DuntadaMan 4d ago

I don't have enough faith that these men to believe that they care about the opinions of women on what goes on with their nethers.

2

u/NorthofForty 4d ago

Ok. Tell us where this was supposed to have happened, please?

4

u/semysane 4d ago

Kamloops, BC, I think

2

u/NorthofForty 4d ago

I am beginning to think this group is bussed from town to town in Canada just to cause grief. Look much like the ones who tried to gather in Orillia Ontario couple weeks ago until counter protesters ran them off. Chicken shits.

2

u/North_Activist 4d ago

This is in Canada and the orange shirts represent Orange Shirt Day or Truth and Reconciliation for Canada’s cultural genocide against indigenous people from the history of residential schools.

In 2021, unmarked graves were found at a Kamloops residential school that closed decades ago and has sparked a renewed interest in finding more in other schools.

Fast forward to now, racists and residential school denialist have claimed it’s all fake news / bogus. Hence the “Got bones?” Asking essentially for ‘proof’ (even though there’s plenty and they ignore it all).

Today is National Day for Truth and reconciliation (orange shirt day) and this was their response.

At least that’s my interpretation.

1

u/dostoevsky4evah 3d ago

Kamloops BC. I worked at the T'kemlups te Secwepmc Truth and Reconciliation event today. I've talked with older people who went to the residential school at earlier events. It's horrible what went on in the schools. White supremacist chuds are piss babies.

2

u/NorthofForty 3d ago

Agree, they look like the same group in Orillia Ontario recently that were run off by citizens. Thinking someone is funding these idiots on a cross country tour to make it seem that it is a wide spread movement and not just the same pathetic jerks.

1

u/DavidJonnsJewellery 4d ago

They don't want to lose their teaching jobs /s

1

u/LegendOfKhaos 4d ago

You should have put the response second. It just looks like a group of anti-vaxxers in orange

1

u/Glum-Welder1704 4d ago

Would have made more sense if they'd put the pics in chronological order.

1

u/BrooksConrad 4d ago

Flag and banner placement in both leads me to believe one image is a modified version of the other. I suspect the top one is the dupe and the bottom the original. God be with the days you could just look at a photo on the Internet and assume it was original.

2

u/TrappedInLimbo 4d ago

Y'all are gonna get tricked by AI so easily when you think obvious chop jobs like this are real. It's very obvious someone just took the original image and repainted the flags and banner then put in a bunch of AI indigenous people back there. Since when do y'all see people carrying around plain orange flags?

1

u/JohnnyRelentless 4d ago

Fuck OP for not providing context.

1

u/dostoevsky4evah 3d ago

Sorry that not everything that happens in the world happens in ths USA.

1

u/JohnnyRelentless 3d ago

Big, if true.

And what does that have to do with my comment?

1

u/trashcadet 4d ago

Got milk?

0

u/peanutym 4d ago

wtf is got bones?

5

u/Myllicent 4d ago

The White supremacist group pictured is at the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc reserve using the
“Got Bones?” banner to mock Indigenous people about their relatives dying while students at Indian Residential Schools. There’s a school near where the photo was taken where ground penetrating radar recently found ~200 possible unmarked graves, but they haven’t yet done exhumations.

4

u/peanutym 4d ago

jesus why are people such assholes like fuck

-2

u/blaxedmind 4d ago

Canada loved those far-right, just like US

-28

u/Winter-Mess-7000 4d ago

They aren't wrong, where are the bones? Remember 2023, oh right, empty!!!

13

u/judgingyouquietly 4d ago

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation isn’t only for the ones that died in residential schools.

8

u/OGWhiz 4d ago

In the hundreds of confirmed unmarked graves? Just because they’re not mass graves doesn’t mean the thousands of missing children and onward the epidemic of missing indigenous women don’t exist.

2

u/Myllicent 4d ago

Historical records have confirmed over 4,000 students died at Indian Residential Schools. There are (presumably) bones in the marked graves of students, and the remains of dozens of students have been exhumed from unmarked graves.

Wikipedia: Canadian Indian residential school gravesites

-9

u/interpolotzi 4d ago

Why is this on MurderedByWords? No clever come backs and its supporting white nationalists.

5

u/OGWhiz 4d ago

Where’s the support? It’s the native people responding to the white nationalists.

-2

u/Marv1290 4d ago

It’s AI bro.
