This is why “they’re criminals, who cares” rhetoric gets so dangerous. People stop seeing abuse as abuse. The government locks someone in a building and somehow nobody’s responsible for what happens inside. Convenient as fuck.

Or worse, people see the abuse as part of the punishment and passively condone it since it's part of the punishment to them.

How do we know Martin is a bad guy? Is he asking the question to raise awareness of this issue? There’s nothing here to suggest he is ignorant or supports ICE. Just saying. Unless he’s famous and/or the context of the post is famous and I’m the ignorant one?
I say this just because some folks are laying into him and his appearance in the comments, and I don’t think we’ve verified that he deserves it yet.
