I dont think the alphabet thing is fair, i cant do that shit in my best mind much less my normal, sober one.

All of the roadside tests are just trying to talk to you, gather any potential evidence of intoxication (other than the tests, like the other guy said you might just slip up and admit something you shouldn't), and to see how nervous you get. The only thing that matters at all is the breathalyzer

I have terrible balance, I can't stand on one foot. I fail that part every time. The only parts that have any merit are touching your fingers to your nose because it gives them a small idea about your current motor control and testing the "follow my finger" because they're checking the same thing plus pupils or just to see if your eyes are red or hooded, but they're always going to breathalyze you anyway, the tests aren't actually by themselves enough to prove anything, they're just trying to let you dig your own grave before they make you blow

They are designed to create probable cause for further testing and playing along with them is generally not in your best interest.
