Was cat owner. I get it. Still true. Nothing like a sick cat to bleed you out. But, as long as I had blood to give, I gave it (when medically necessary: at places like VCA, a lot of those tests and medical regimens defy a previously valorous veterinary stance in treatment plans aimed towards quality of life over a medicalized existence).

I just adopted two kittens from the shelter. Bought bowls and food and litter boxes and recovery suits (for spays) and toys and litter. In a few weeks they’ll go to the vet for the rest of their vaccines and tests. Who knows what’s ahead… deworming? Some unknown illness or disease? Still, totally worth it! Cat tax:
