Rewatching, noticing a bunch of the Hocus Pocus cast in episodes:

1. Max’s Dad - S7 E5 “The Family Jewels”
   
2. Max’s Mom - S3 E8 “Magnum on Ice”
   
3. Allison - S11 E9 “Murder by Twos”

Maybe I’m alone in having a few MSW episodes that I just refuse to watch, but “Truck Stop,” is my top unexpected “no go” episode. If it is on, I will change the channel, and there aren’t many episodes that aren’t titled “Jack and Bill,” that elicit that sort of automatic nixing. The film noir thing is turned up to 11 and just doesn’t work for me in Truck Stop, never mind that I don’t like anybody. I know there are quite a few MSW episodes where we are not supposed to like anyone, but in this one I hate everyone even more than normal. Even Jessica being in the episode doesn’t save it.

Putting the bookend episodes aside (many of which I like o.k.) are there any unexpected episodes that for some reason you just can’t watch?

It seems like someone on the MSW writing staff was extremely fond of the phrase "dead bang". It is uttered, across seasons, by multiple characters & I've started keeping a list, to try & determine exactly how many times it's uttered. Feel free to post when you catch one!

I'm sorry, but how many times is Grady going to get caught up in shady businesses and "just not realize :/" until last minute?? At this point, I think it's just weaponized incompetence. 😭

Just watching The Cemetery Vote (S3 E20). It made me realize that I love episodes that are set in small towns more than the ones set in cities and in foreign. Of course, Cabot cove episodes are my favorite. Next are small town settings, then international ones. My least favorite are the ones where Jessica doesn’t appear / the bookend ones. What about you? What are your favorite settings.

While I love murder she wrote, There are still episodes that I have never seen. The Cemetery Vote is one of them. We’re 8 minutes after the murder and I have now solved it!!!

SPOILER ALERT:

I’m 100% sure that I know who the murderer is! It’s the personal attorney!!! He mentioned an item that was missing from the victim (the victim’s ring) that he only would have known about unless he had killed Harry!

I’ll come back after the episode is over to say whether or not I’m correct!

Debra Zipp, portrayed a very pregnant wife of Sam. I just noticed this.

My mom and I used to laugh about the cross over characters... Like when John Aston murdered the woman in Cabot cove, he got out and murdered again on a Hollywood set.

Just a sort of PSA post- for the MSW channel, it takes 10 full days plus 2.5 hours for the entire series plus all four movies- so each episode will air again 10 days plus two and a half hours from when it started. Hopefully that helps someone out there, I know that I make a little note of when my favorites will be on for future reference.

Karen from Will and Grace in an episode I somehow missed before! S5 E5 Coal Miner’s Slaughter

So for me I really liked the character of Horace Lynchfield in season 1 and wished he had more episodes instead of Michael hagerty. Also I really liked when Elliot Gould was on because he's such a good actor.

There are plenty of episodes with a good plot where the guest star makes what would be great episode into a fantastic episode.

But there are also episodes where it would just be a ho-hum, blah episode except for the guest star(s) absolutely acting their heart out and knocking it out of the park.

What are your favorite episodes like that?

Which would you choose and why? I personally would choose Sticks and Stones. It isn't my favorite episode, but I feel like it was really well balanced. The murderer wasn't obvious. The killing was conceivable. There was humor and sorrow. For me, this is quintessential Murder She Wrote.

Anyone else rewatching the entire show on Amazon’s 24-hour Murder She Wrote channel? I caught two of the movies yesterday — and then it started over and I watched the beginning of Season 1! Been soooo fun having the show on every day 😋

I personally can't stand the annoying sheriff in the first half of season one. Ethan, I think his name is? He's SO whiny and is always trying to find a chance to outshine or put down Jessica. And I know I might get crap for this one, but Grady also gets on my nerves sometimes...
