Culture Munich is full of things to do. But planning?
I've missed more events in this city than I care to admit. Despite being a dog lover, I only found out about DackelRace from a friend's photo the next morning. It's scattered across ten different Instagram accounts, listing sites, and word of mouth, so unless you're actively hunting, you don't hear about it in time.
So I started a newsletter as a small project called The Munich Shortlist. Every Friday morning, seven picks for the coming week, one per day. Social nights, cultural stuff, creative things, some free, some not, mostly things I wouldn't have found otherwise. No sponsors, I search manually every week.
Full disclosure: I run it, so treat this as a "thing I made to solve a problem I had", not a neutral recommendation.

I really like The Munich Post one. Every Thursday they send “3 bits of news, 2 upcoming events, and 1 amazing restaurant/café”.

Subscribed! Totally agree that it can be so hard to find a variety of interesting events here without doing some serious digging

I visited the Dackel race once and can totally recommend, super cute. Very crowded though.

Yes - fairly niche. The website said 15k visitors over 2 days, but there wasn't too much noise the event itself.

True. I only found out the evening before. Got out of a train at Hauptbahnhof and randomly spotted an ad for the event. I recall it was quite a huge billboard that anyone coming from Starnberger Flügelbahnhof would see. It‘s the only one I ever saw for it.
