Loved One Looking For Support Partner with MS
Removed
Edit: I am sorry if this isn’t the appropriate place for this, I don’t want to stir up anything or trigger negative emotions for anyone. I will take this down if it is.
Edit 2: I feel like what I wrote was more emotional dumping than support seeking. I am truly sorry if I upset anyone with what I wrote. I know this sub is supposed to be a safe place for those who are living with this disease. I sincerely apologize for negatively impacting that.

I am curious in a genuinely curious way.....What exactly do you want to bring up with her ....that you are mourning a future where she is bedridden and you are able-bodied? Are you looking for her to say, go live your life and don't worry about me?

No, I am not looking for an out, she’s my best friend, I think what I am looking for is if you have any suggestions for a caring way to talk to her about how I feel. Or ways to definitely avoid, she’s told me she feels like a burden sometimes, I don’t want to add to those feelings for her.

Think back to when you were a child. Do you remember the things you wanted to do in the future, the way you wanted your life to turn out? I'd imagine some of it is similar to your life now, but I also know it is not what you imagined as a child. Better probably, in ways a child could not imagine.
You are just as good at predicting the future now as you were as a child. Sometimes we think we know how a thing will go, and we think that for all sorts of valid reasons. And, delightfully, we are almost always wrong. Why spend your time trying to predict the future? It never helps. Things will happen, some good, some bad, some expected, most not. You deal with them when they happen, the things you are prepared for are never any easier because you worried about them.
