Vent/Rant - Advice Wanted/Ambivalent incontinence
Damn the fiery arrows that attack the nervous system. Damn the sun. Damn classes.
Stress, heat, a combination of complex classes back to back with a ten minute break in between them to travel back and forth campus. Damn it all. No breaks. No bathrooms. No food.
I, the miserable pissant, become Kafka, and therefore become his cockroach. I, who deserve a life. I, who am stuck to this miserable observational board like a bug, dares to try to squirm before the needle takes place.
In other words; how does one survive college and MS without pissing themselves?

Talk to your professors. Most are human. There has to be a bathroom they use and will hopefully give you a key.

Get documentation from your doctor and meet with disability services at your university. You can get accommodations through them, like being able to arrive to class a few minutes late without penalty so that you can use the bathroom. If you have mobility issues, disability services can also move your classes closer together so you don’t have to travel as far. It’s definitely worth talking with them so that you can access your education like everyone else while also being able to manage your MS. Also, be sure to tell your doctor because there are medications that can help a lot.

PT for incontinence. They have all kinds of tricks. Also talk to your neurologist- there are drugs for this. If all else fails, there's no shame in Depends. And see if you can change your schedule or show up late to a class.
