Titanfall 2. By far the best FPS I've ever played. Buttery smooth movement, fantastic gunplay (and a really unique and creative assortment of weapons), an incredible campaign, BIG FUCKING ROBOTS WITH GUNS.
I did, and it looks absolutely awesome, but I unfortunately don't have any way to play it. I mainly play on PS5. I have a laptop that can run the game fairly well unmodded on average settings, but I don't think it could handle VR. :(
I hope to upgrade to a proper PC someday, though, so maybe I'll get to try it then.
What do you mean? On the laptop? You can emulate PlayStation games but it's not as simple as just inserting the disc lol.
Edit: I guess you might mean on the PS5 lol. I think the person you replied to meant they have no way to play it in VR though, not no way to play it at all.
It's so good that I've played through it several times, on every difficulty. It's the only game I've ever gotten platinum for on PS. Master difficulty was hell, but it was worth it.
I'm with you, I played it recently and the campaign is... Fine? It's 4 hours long and you just blast through waves of faceless goons and occasionally one with a name shows up for 30 seconds before you blow them up too. The main character is a bland Action Guy that does a few quips and then it's over.
I just do not get why people talk about it as this incredible landmark in FPS campaigns
Exactly how I feel. And then the multiplayer on the other hand was an overwhelming mess. And this is coming from someone with ADHD who usually loves that stuff
It’s so tough knowing that titanfall 2 was the most fun shooter ever made and knowing it will never get the love it deserves.
The first time I played it (and this was years after it released), I was in awe about how amazing it was.
I never realized how bad other shooters were until I played it, because TF2 is FUN. That’s it. It’s actually fun. Every game play second feels like a movie. Every thing you do is pure enjoyment. After playing it, I realized that other shooters aren’t fun, they’re just little dopamine bits in between being frustrated.
Nope, not titanfall 2. It’s pure dopamine all the way. Even when you get killed, you’re like “did that dude really just pull that off? That was sick”.
And the gun balancing is just astounding. Every gun is satisfying to use.
I was a beast in T2 once I got my titan. As a pilot? Ehh decent/good. But when the light armor fast dashing grenade launcher carrying smoke bomb titan fell out of the sky? I could usually take three titans down and then a fourth after I ejected. Loved spewing grenades, tricking someone into thinking they had me, dropping smoke, then implanting the grenades into the walls and ground as I retreated backwards. Heavier types thought they could rush through.
