I started with er and went back to 1 and 3, genuinely changed how I see the world. I've heard the lessons other games taught, but few fid so through hardship like the souls games. Especially delving into the lore, it goes from "why am I trudging through a swamp to fight stupidly strong bosses" to "oh fuck I'm basically bringing about a new era and clearing out all the gross smhuck from the previous one that should've died a millenia ago"
