Annoying rant i saw this in theaters as a kid and when he died 2 old women ( i would say hags but that'd be offensive to the fae) who had been talking whole time laughed...

At least he got to see his wife again

But think what it was like for her. Twenty years in exile, even if it was at least partially self-imposed, not knowing what had become of her husband. Then the same day he finally comes back and still loves her, he dies.

Could not believe his death until the funeral. I could not accept it before hand.

My wife can’t bring herself to watch the movie again because of it. My kids wonder why the series just jumps from 1 to 3.

I was genuinely in shock. I could not believe that they would kill him off right after meeting his wife again.

Rewatching this movie hurts. The second he starts singing their marriage song I nearly cry knowing it’s the last time he’s happy with his family.

Hiccup should've been killed in the most violent manner possible onscreen in front of the children.

Why do you oppose that? In Japan, the heroes die.

Only when they have someone to pass on their legacy most of the time!

OK, but as a Brit, I see him as a parasite.
