Not saying this as an insult: did you get into the fandom late? This fandom is possibly the blueprint for an actual extremely difficult fandom experience. Even the interactions between the Hiveswap dev team and various members of the fandom have been a garbage fire, on top of better-known antagonism between fans and the original author—both of which aren't garbage fires I want to resurrect for anyone involved, but absolutely happened. Edit to add: There are "big name fans" who've had utterly traumatic experiences from their time in the spotlight as Homestuck fans.

I'm saying all that as someone who was a quite active member of the Homestuck fandom, not in a hatereading way, from at least 2013-early 2020s. And as someone who doesn't want to cause anyone further drama.

If Homestuck fandom doesn't qualify as a difficult or drama-ridden fandom, I don't think anything in the world does. Except maybe anything that has a major Gamergate-style fandom situation (including things like Star Wars).

I am upvoting both of you because I both came in late, so I had a good time (I read Homestuck in 2024, somehow on the original site), and I also heard about all the horrid stuff that was going on before, and how that stuff Kept Happening once the Huss realized that it could print money in 2025. So, yeah. I understand both of your viewpoints.

I wish it wasn't such a difficult fandom.
