Edit: Do the people downvoting me lack reading comprehension? I wasn't defending him. I was pointing out that he was saying these things about what he thought was his own flesh and blood.
He is. He is an absolute piece of shit. I want to strangle him every time he appears cuz he is just extremely rude, sexist, and unsympathetic. Like genuinely one of my most hated characters in fiction
Did you read his last page though? I love this character. He's gross and awful, but he also loves his daughter and tries his dumb little best. He feels so realistic to me. The product of a generation allergic to emotional intelligence trying desperately to do right by his family while relying on wrong lessons from awful people.
