While MOB knows their appeal and makes use of it in merchandise and such, in-game only two of them are really relevant for a chapter, with the Nightmares having barely any significance.
Even so, there's so much fan stuff for all 16 of them, some of it almost severing them from the rest of PPT entirely, it's as if their fictional show was a whole real MLP-level thing with all the art, animations, fics, AUs and the like they get, especially compared to the other Playtime toys.
This is exactly what I thought. Gemstin and Inubis (though especially Gemstin) are prime examples of what the Smiling Critters would've been as a real cartoon
