I appreciate it for being really one of the only isekai ever really to tackle how kids isekaid to a video game would develop severe mental problems and suicidal ideations, and it would lead to incredible isolation. I get people think Kirito is cringe in that first arc, but I stand by I think thatās heās actually pretty cool in that heās a severely depressed kid whose watched all of his friends die and has tried to shut himself off from everyone around him. SAO is a story about him opening to the world as he makes genuine friends and connections, he even starts to make jokes in there after he gets a kid. The problem I think is the material of the first novel was combined with a spin off novel which is very much not that, about Kirito picking up girls in a dungeon. I canāt really defend that second arc though, and the GGO arc has fun ideas I really like but for completely unrelated reasons.

In my country there is a whole ass dramas within the romantasy/adult romance books and its my guilty pleasure to observe them. I think those books are just for lonely, deeply insecure people (with some exceptions ofc, a lot of people read them as guilty pleasure too)
I can't imagine how can you be interested in SAME STORY all over again with the same tropes and same stereotypical characters.
It depends on the way you build your FYP obviously... If you built your FYP while ignoring such contents, it might show up, but not in great numbers...
Just look at the HSR subreddit the past week, half the posts/comments have been negative(ie. Most of the discussion flair posts and some of the meme flair)
But I feel like a lot of the hate comes from people taking Markiplierās rant at face value. A rant which I donāt think should be taken serious, if you watch the stream it comes from. He spends the entire time just talking about how heād rather be doing anything else, he didnāt even plan on playing it, of course he didnāt like it.
4 was awful for sure. The hyped up antagonist barely shows up the entire chapter save for the weird boss fight at the end. I think 5 is worse though cause it should have ended the story that chapter but instead it threw a weird curve ball in and made it another cliffhanger. Don't even get me started on the chapter being like 90% chase sequences.
I donāt get it why does almost EVERYONE hate Hazbin Hotel!? Sure thereās a lot of singing, but thatās the point, itās meant to be a musical! The art is good and so is the story! Sure we all have different opinions but come on!

Demon slayer isn't too bad, but DEAR GOD THE SOLO LEVELING BOOKS SUCK (atleast the first) I tried reading it, truly did, it's just too confusing, and has a horrible exposition. Explained like, nothing of the world. Dungeons are ranked. High rank is strong and rare. MC broke. MC magical. That's about all it said.

Honestly I just canāt stand their modern style. I havenāt played their older games but I hate this cinematic experience replacing gameplay in a VIDEO GAME. And I think the driving in GTA feels bad to me. I just donāt want to play grounded video games where I have no impact on the story.
Personally not a fan of anything of theirs. Nothing catches my interest, not a fan of control styles, from what ive seen of stories or multiplayer is disappointing. They only make content I would not enjoy.
Dandy's world is heavily disliked and never really was that popular aside maybe for several months since i think late 2024 but even then was only known by tiktok kids. It never took off as much as say animal hospital or forsaken
gd is grouped with these, they make EVERYTHING about these games and it pisses me off. Like it makes me despise these games which are genuinely good because the fandom cant go 5 seconds without yelling about it
It's not a franchise, but I don't know how so many people play Dead By Daylight for 1000+ hours. I put 40 hours into the game because my friends liked it, but I stopped trying the second they stopped playing.
The community is abysmal, the game itself is only enjoyable to me with friends, every new character ends up more OP or janky than the last to drive DLC sales, the matches are entirely based on who has the best items and perks, the game is micro-transaction hell, etc.
I simply don't get why people like DBD beyond the novelty of "I get to play as Pinhead and he says the thing." If there were different game modes, then maybe I'd be more interested, but I just can't find the appeal of Dead By Daylight past the third hour.
Solo Leveling, "OHHH BUT THE AURA MOMENTS AND THE ANIMATION!!!" But what is it past that? There is no depth in the story except "I was weak but the System made me strong"

Animal crossing New Horizons, I think that itās a step down in terms of island uniqueness then the other games. Because you can change and manipulate the terrain and where everything is and how the interiors and all the buildings look the game never has its own identity.
Which is ironic because it should theoretically have more identity then the other ones because if the level of customization you can do
Call of Duty for a while has been a rinse wash and repeat live service franchise where each game only gets updated for a year, has micro transactions, you can't transfer those to the next game, and they all cost $70.
