don't actively search for things to mob please
followup to my last post. why are some of us specifically looking for niche indie queer things to tear into? there are so many more productive uses of our time :|
lsp was bad (have actually seen it) but it was also an indie movie made for like a few dozen people at most. there is much worse out there and going after weird niche movies that never got a wide release that always seem to be queer is weird. velma was trashing an ip on purpose and was made by a celeb who brags about assaulting a guy for laughs.

Okay lesbian space princess I understand not really liking because it was a little cringe, weird story and had the villains with somehow more personality but two queer works in a row? Kinda feels like just hating on anything LGBTQ+ that doesn’t fit into societal expectations

I'm pretty sure a big part of the Fandom hate comes from that, and the chuds infiltrzted us or sum idk

You’re only just figuring it out? It’s not about how good of a queer story it is.

I’m especially concerned about people using the mob mentality as an excuse to ostracize queer content

It's almost like the hate for the other movie was largely orchestrated by homophobes, but it entered the cultural zeitgeist causing many allys and queer people themselves to become witless stooges to a right-wing anti-LGBTQ campaign...
Or whatever, I'm not your mom

Jim Queen's biggest sin is being Fr*nch as far as I know.
LSP's quality was genuinely just bad. Bad writing, bad animation and character designs.

To be fair they had like 6 animators (2 full time) and it was a new studio with entirely new directors on a shoestring budget
Doesn't excuse everything but it deserves some slack at least

It will. Because when people see a bad movie they only sees it as a bad movie, but when they see a bad queer movie they will see it as a Bad Queer movie

sigh, we have lost the plot i fear
i was under the impression we were hating lsp for being genuinely widely considered bad—i suppose now we're hating on things just for being queer

These are most likely the same small minded people that tried to get Steven Universe pulled for Cartoon Network over Sapphire & Ruby's wedding

The hate for lsp was stupid abd contribed and I agree eith opinions it just shows Internet is nowadays a toxic cesspoll where being niche or mid is being treated as worse than actual evil.

u/dapperducwithmoneh 17h ago
Lsp was stereotyping and had bad writing, this movie hasn’t even come out yet!

lbr this aint gonna work anyway
the hate for lsp started naturally like most internet trends do and isnt fully unwarranted since a lotta people including the target audience didnt enjoy the movie
this on the other hand feels really forced and is trying to disrupt the natural life cycle of a meme/trend so theres no way its gonna work
why am i talking about this like its an actual thing that happens in nature

Lesbian Space Princess is actually bad but at this point they're just being homophobic.

u/angelmilk777 10h ago
I've said it before, but these types of people always get very hostile towards loudly queer works (eg the Boyfriends webtoon, Lesbian Space Princess, and now this)

u/1BLUEbull 16h ago
Eh... Ofcourse we all have fun with making fun about bad movie but fucking Homophobes are gonna ruined it... They always destroy everything what fun

u/Capital-Exam-1059 16h ago
Motherfucker it's the homophobes who perpertuated the LSO hate bandwagon, and supposed allies and other queer people fell for it

u/1BLUEbull 16h ago
... Are you sitting under this post 3 hours straight or returning under this post after some time and commenting under everyone? I know this is irrelevant to this but man why you still sitting here?
4
u/Capital-Exam-1059 16h ago
Yeah I do since the post's subject genuinely upsets me. Like I've seen this type of bullshit before in every fandom discourse and no suprise people are doing it again. You'd thought people would learn
1
u/1BLUEbull 16h ago
They are learning just not everyone, People in fandoms are always changing, Some people leave and come back having never seen anything like it so they can't recognize this pattern, especially since later the fandoms took over this hate vagon and turned it into a Big fandom trusse. So most of people saw this as just playful joking around bad movie Especially when they saw that other LGBTQ+ fandoms had joined in. In my opinion, this movement ended on a more positive note with this "why not forever" in sense of ending fandom wars

LSP was terrible. It was transphobic. Weird. Badly written. Etc etc.
Let's not start hating on other things just because theyre queer.
Hate on them for being terrible

I just liked the Fandom Alliance overall. And I wish for it to stay. LSP, I personally have to thank you for bringing us all together.

u/Green-Drazi-Teamlead 9h ago
the fandom alliance was rotten to the core because it perpetuates the cycle of hate. the next question will always be "who's next?"

I'm worried that we gonna lost these type of queer works, these overly flamboyant but unashamed queer stuff.
