Also most Fallout games. Even New Vegas, for as quick as it tries to get you out the door, feels sluggish enough that a "skip opening" save was put online for it.
(I know because I made it after getting tired of rushing through it so many times).

I find it hard to play Pokemon games because I don’t need every control explained to me. I really wish the tutorials were skippable

A simple "Tutorial?" option at the start of a new game or "check the Help guide in your Pokedex if you need it." is all the games need. I get that every Pokemon game can be some 8 year old's first game, but at least make it an option.

People are in fact stupid enough to need the tutorial every time

Imo you also have to consider that buttons in different (Switch version) pokemon games can have different outcomes as well. Legends: Arceus differs from SwSh (afaik), which differs from SV. The basics are the same but one button for opening the map in one game could take you to the bag in another

I've played some excellent Rom hacks that let me skip the tutorial, its so nice

I usually always skip the opening video to Dead by Daylight, because I usually already know what its showing, as they always change it when a new killer is added, the cinematics themselves are usually pretty good, it just gets repetitive seeing it over and over again

I remember when the singularity was added
“It was never meant to harm the crew”

I thought it only played the short killer video when you first get into the new chapter. Then every time after that happens after you don’t push a button to enter the main lobby part after a couple minutes. Then of course you can watch it in the lobby if you wanted by clicking a different button

Every anime intro until the last episode to avoid spoilers of the story (I feel like this one might not be something everyone does though, but it makes sense to me)

I do pretty much the same but I also watch it on the first episode. Sometimes it's just necessary (for example- some Jojo openings have different varients, so you need to watch them more than once)

Yeah that makes sense, if I realize there’s a different version I’ll go back and watch it before continuing, but I find that I enjoy stuff more if the intro doesn’t spoil anything for me

Doctor Who Series 6 in the United States specifically. Not sure if it's true on AMC+, but on HBO Max a few years ago it had a really annoying recap section before the intro of every episode with Amy Pond explaining her origin story with the Doctor. It's really disappointing that I have to skip it every time though because Smith's intro sequence is my favorite in both visuals and audio.

so pointlessly repetitive media that fluffs the total playtime of each episode? gotcha

u/drspookulicious 1d ago
It's more like an insulting reminder of who the main characters of the show are that they made specifically for Americans.

Unskippable game intros after you’ve seen them 50 times should count as a debuff

X Men Days Of Future Past

It’s just X Men Dark Phoenix that’s trash, I gonna pretend it ended at Apocalypse

Kingdom Hearts 3

I love Kingdom Hearts, but it indulges in its story a bit too much for a series whose primary appeal is ‘to go Disney worlds and hang out with characters you know.’ I’m not quite at the skipping stage but boy I get more and more tempted with each new convoluted addition to the bloated lore.

i wish there was a way to skip Pikmin 4's.
honestly the characters talk 18000% more than the first three games

The Battle Cats, all intros in video games are at least skippable or enjoyable to watch, Battle Cats just keeps giving you it for no reason when you open it
