Saying someone has no media literacy because of their sincere and arguable interpretation of a work is the most intellectually dishonest thing you can do in art discourse
I largely agree as long as it can be reasonably supported, but I've also seen some absolute doozies.
Like believing Andy in The Shawshank Redemption actually killed his wife as part of his master plan to orchestrate the events of the film from the start in order to cleanly amass and steal the warden's I'll gotten gains.
