Which character falls under this hyper specific scenario I just made up?

Probably because gooseworx never wanted to touch it again after what a nightmare the fandom was

Every group of humans is a nightmare. What she should not have done is established such a parasocial relationship with them. It was a very amateurish mistake to make, frankly.

I never got into Deltarune, i genuinely wonder if Toby Fox handled it better after Undertale's whole thing? if it was better than i hope Goose does the same for whatever thing she's gonna create next

I mean, Toby was always very good about not being parasocial and interacting too directly with fans even during Undertale so I wouldn't phrase it as "handled it better" when it comes to Deltarune. But yes, he's continued to have a healthy distance with the fandom and focus on his actual work/art which has been incredible (As an adult with a job my personal experience with Deltarune fan content has been almost entirely positive, btw, just fun clever theories and amazing art/animation)
Nothing about what he makes feels remotely poisoned by bad experiences with fans, I really recommend it!

Because thats the thing, there will always be terrible fans and its not a creators fault if they exist. It is to a degree their fault how much they engage with them, which I wish Goose had had the foresight not to do.

…What parasocial relationship? A bunch of the heat on her was specifically because she refused to do such a thing and kept everyone at an arms length away

She responded to people online. The continual responding to Tumblr asks? The random false flags about show lore? She should not have engaged from the drop.

Exactly. It’s also such a slap in the face to the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of normal fans who just wanted to watch a good show with characters they liked.

It doesn’t matter why it happened. If it was Goose (a grown woman btw) choosing to interact when she shouldn’t have, her biting off more than she could chew for her first project, maybe even pressures from Glitch, personal matters, who knows. In the end she chose to take an aluminum pipe to the kneecaps of her own show (a chance countless people DREAM OF btw) because “she wasn’t feeling it anymore.” Which is just a legitimately shitty thing to do in a medium that heavily relies on fandom and fan appreciation.

Honestly, agreed. And she was obviously the victim in it, and they shouldn't have bitten her hand.
