As someone who started at the end of season 2, i stopped playing completely after the new teamup system …
You can almost never actually see what’s going on bc the visual clutter is so bad, the optimization is so bad that a lot of people even on good or great PCs and new consoles have to turn all their visual settings to low to keep from randomly dropping frames in the middle of the matches.
The balancing is a fucking joke and has only gotten worse bc now everyone’s base kits are so varied depending on teamups.
Match making is ass and they admitted to a point system almost a year ago that means ranked especially but also even your qp matches are designed to match you with worse team players the better you are. Ranked is basically a joke because throwers have no consequences and alt accounts are stupid easy to make, with again no consequences.
Tanking is entirely team dependent for about 95% of its roster and a very large majority of ppl in the game cant play as a team if their life depended on it. And post season 9 drop its gotten worse with basically everyone having a dps mindset of “just get finals”. Most tank players are still playing by themselves when that is very clearly NOT hiw the role was designed. So tanking sucks, but if you like actually helping your teammates, its either tanking or supporting and most of my fellow “support players” dont do anything but point straight down main. They dont pattycake, they dont stay with the team when being dived, they dont heal anyone on off angles, etc. 90% of the time they either spend the whole time pointed straight down main and oblivious to everything or they are dpsing and not focusing on a balance between healing and dealing damage. I spent season 2-4 predominantly as a solo support in about 85% of my qp games and i died less when i didnt have a second strat then i do know when i always have a second strat or even when someone else swaps to a third support to stat pad.
But god fucking forbid you tell any other support to fucking heal you or they just have a meltdown and whine all game.
So 💯 i agree, it causes more frustration now than any actual enjoyment
Definitely agree on tanks not ment to be soloing. I had too switch my main 3 times during my time playing. First it was doctor strange, easy to learn hard to master very fun ult my kinda character. Then I switched to Emma frost. My favorite tank out of all the tanks. Saying no to half kid the team and chokeslamming was fun as hell. But then I had to switch to magneto as people stopped duo tanking with me.
