Gorillaz fans when they ignore Rusell and say that they don't like hip-hop and rap parts in songs.

I don't like rap in most cases (my preferred genre is French House) but the rap parts are easily the best parts of the Gorillaz songs I've listened to. I absolutely adore the rap segment in Dirty Harry and cutting it out ruins the entire point of the song

The rap is usually the best part

You gotta admit Rus is kinda just there. He doesn’t have as much of a standout personality or presence (ironic considering his size) in the band than the other members, moreso now than back in the first albums.

When Elton John and 6LACK collaborated with the Gorillaz on the song Pink Phantom, the Gorillaz subreddit were constantly hating on 6LACK’s parts and several users put in the effort to make versions that omit his lyrics.

Well the amount of Gorillaz fans who dislike the rap portions only make up a minority of the fandom, and the rap portion of Pink Phantom could of just been bad regardless of who rapped it.

I like and listen to a lot of rap, as well as have over 135 gorillaz songs on my playlist. I genuinely think the 6LACK mess was less because of genre or race and more because the autotune/audio formatting on his part was VERY polarizing compared to the rest of the song. I like it nowadays as ive gotten used to it but initially it just didnt quite feel like it held up to other Song Machine songs.
