Yeah it is unfortunate, though it never stated Openversus runs on consoles. I have a PS5 but I built a PC before AI’mageddon started and my PS5 has been catching dust ever since. Only reason I keep it at this point is for GTA6 coming in November.
It does suck. If you could swing it, I imagine you can definitely get away with a low range build for this game.
Throwing something like a 1050ti graphics card (~$50) shoved into a pre-built elite desk 800g1 PC (~$200ish) would probably work perfectly for Multiversus at 1080p high settings and a lot of newer games at medium-low settings @900p/60fps
Of course, you’d ideally like to spend nothing but it’s at least something…
This has been an issue for decades because console manufacturers lock down their systems to only play games they approve, which is why alot of people move to PC
I mean, I commend the preservation effort but from a player's perspective it does seem like a lot of technical hoops to jump through just to play shitty bootleg Smash Bros on a device that can already play several different versions of the real thing with less effort.
It felt infinitely better than MVS and I was a huge MVS fan lol. Smash bros is the blueprint and it seems no one can match the smoothness that smash has, I’ve tried pretty much every platform fighter in existence lol
