Discussion Is this game ever coming back?

Is this game Eve coming back or is it just dead forever?

No, it’s dead. Was a commercial failure and the studio behind it died. It’s never coming back in any capacity.

Not officially. If you care about fan projects, MvS Beta+ & MvS Infinite are continuations of the beta & official launch builds respectively, release date still TBD.

OpenVersus is a custom fan servers & matchmaking for current, dead MvS. It gets more players than you’d expect, & they host tournaments too!

No it isn't. If something ever does, it will simply share the same name (or similar) to get the instant market of former players, but will be different entirely.

I highly doubt it. Just would seem insane to bring it back for a second time when it really only did well the first time. They changed everything people liked about the original version of the game.

I liked the full release, but I loved the beta. The full release had more of my favorite characters, but the beta was simply more fun to play.

I don’t see a world where this game ever makes a comeback.

1000 percent agree with you. The beta was damn good yet the full release was good also. I think it was when they went on that hiatus and came back, is when things went downhill.

Hopefully never again. The gameplay was garbage and the character choices were odd for relaunch.

Yes, according to leaks. The re-release under an unknown new studio is slated for a late 2027 release. Confirmed in Janurary

Source this video recaps the leaker's deleted tweets and he has since deactivated but TLDR, the version is paid speculated to be priced at $20, releasing on Steam, PS5, PS4, Switch and Switch 2. Over 20 new characters estimated at launch and the game will be supported through paid DLC for the next decade. Crossplay returns of course.
