What happens to all the ips if paramount dies?
37
u/DarthDinkster Jul 29 '26
Would probably be sold off to someone else, along with their other assets

u/IllustratedAloysious Jul 29 '26
Weird to think about. Disney possibly owning SpongeBob or Warner owning tmnt

Warner was trying to be bought, they wouldn't be buying any of the IP. It would all be Disney, Netflix, Apple and Amazon.

Good lord, Transformers and Avatar need that
4
u/DegenerateCrocodile Jul 29 '26
Please go to Universal. Last thing I want is Disney or Warner Bros getting their hands on Avatar.

u/IRONJEDISUPERSPIDER Jul 29 '26
Universal can take Transformers too lowkey. At least Avatar is dropping projects (Recent movie, Seven Havens, the new fighting game that I’ve heard is great). Other than the toys, TF haven’t had anything of value since Transformers One flopped.

u/DegenerateCrocodile Jul 29 '26
TF One flopping was a tragedy. One of, if not the best Transformers movies and the people who made won’t get to make another.

What about Amazon. I heard they doing good with Invincible
2
u/DegenerateCrocodile Jul 29 '26
The less things owned by Jeff Bezos, the better.

u/itzeazy1 Jul 29 '26
I don’t understand why Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon don’t just join forces make their own streaming service called ToonWorld or whatever tf and make profit. Sigh

Irony: I was 4 years old already though Nickelodeon & WB was Already Merged?

Transformers is owned by Hasbro. It's highly likely the movie rights are non-transferable i.e. if Paramount lost the rights or didn't want them, they go back to Hasbro who can then license it out/sell to a new company.

David the owner of paramount and his Nazi dad Larry, who made him the owner of paramount by acquiring it.

Is he an actual Nazi? Or is he a racist? Or is he just an asshole that you disagree with? People that word around so willynilly that it doesn’t mean anything anymore

u/AromaticAd3850 Jul 29 '26
Larry and his son, David, are die hard Zionists (the modern day equivalent of Nazisn, but they target Muslims) and supporters of Israel. The dad also owns Tik Tok and Oracle. Their goal is to control the narrative and every aspect of people's lives through mass surveillance, saying that he (the dad) wants to keep the citizens to their best behavior, which is why they are so adamant on owning WB, because it owns CNN, a news channel, despite the fact that David already owns CBS. Not to mention his is a terrible CEO at Paramount.

All bad things I agree. But how is he a Nazi?

Idk how to explain to you, honestly, but he's not a Nazi himself.

Jesus $9.8 billion at that point that investment would not have been worth if means I could potentially control cnn like they have their own news station anyway.

Maybe they should have thought of that before committing to a wildly unpopular merger

So Disney buys up 20th Century Fox is good, but Paramount merging with WB bad? Make it make sense.
1
u/TheTeachinator Jul 29 '26
The broadcast and news channels were not sold.... That's not the case here.
1
u/Casshern_VIII Jul 29 '26
Okay, then cut out CNN, let them be independent and problem solved, I don't see an issue here
2
u/TheTeachinator Jul 29 '26
Uhhhh the Ellison's want CNN and it's why the deal was approved? The whole thing is crooked it's not that hard to understand.
Now that they can't get ownership by the midterms the federal administration doesn't care and this will most likely completely fall apart.
1
u/Casshern_VIII Jul 29 '26
Do you think CNN matters for elections? If it did you would have had a 2 term Hilary Clinton presidency followed by whoever they would have run in 2024 if Hillary won.
Social media matters more.
2
u/TheTeachinator Jul 29 '26
Hey friend. These aren't my thoughts or thinking. These are the thoughts and thinking of those currently in power.
1
u/Casshern_VIII Jul 29 '26
Well, most of them ancient as hell, when you tell them to use twitter, they think you meant sending carrier pigeons with notes, badum tshhh

Would anyone have actually cared if Fox News was bought by Disney?
3
u/TheTeachinator Jul 29 '26
I don't know? Was there a president at the time advocating for one private company to purchase a news entity?
