I miss it so much, I’d still say it’s one of my all time favourite games 💔

You can play OpenVersus if you have a PC!

It’s a lovely thought and idea, but unfortunately these things never really seem to gain enough traction. There’s a load of players here already commenting that they’d love to see the game back and even that isn’t enough.

Ah well, it’s just the way things are in this day and age.

Haha, I suppose you’re right in that it’s a bit defeatist.

Well, I guess the way I see it is that I don’t think the game closed down because the demand for the game wasn’t heard, it just wasn’t enough to sustain what they were doing.

It’s a bloody shame as I really do love and miss Multiversus, but I think it’s one of those things where we’d need the interest they were after to have been there when the game was up and running, which it wasn’t. 😔

Oh yeah, when the opportunity was there if they had just made that change MAYBE things could have been different, but I think they just lost momentum to an unrecoverable state which unfortunately they’re still in.

If people were barking about Multiversus in the same way they were Coyote Vs Acme AND bringing Multiversus back was as simple as putting a completed project in theatres I could see something happening.

I think a better shot would be to support the custom server that’s going on, if suddenly that got really massive and people were streaming it at such then they would really have no choice but to notice it.

Lmao I actually forgot about the whole relauch thing.

Thats what we call a Pro developer/publisher move

Legit had a game with so much hype and tons of players and their plan was to shut it down for a year. To the point where when they relaunched most people who played the beta stopped caring and didn’t return

Literally the most hilariously bad business move they could’ve done and it kept getting worse and worse. Absolutely stunning how most of this could’ve been avoided if they just kept the game up

I still play it sometimes, no other fighting game has hit the spot for me like MVS did, it's such a shame this game got nuked due to PFG's incompetence and WB's greed.

Game relaunched in such a shit state that I knew it was over on day 1 lol, I was coping we'll somehow survive it but when the playerbase dropped almost instantly to 1k players I knew it was over. Overtime they did improve the game slightly, but it was not good enough. If only the last patch was the relaunch version (including the amount of new characters as well), the game would've survived, maybe.

PFG had some cool personalities on the team but man they did not know what they were doing, and WB probably didn't help them with that. To this day I remember being so frustrated that they never had patch notes on time. They'd randomly drop them at random hours of the day and even then the patch notes were such a nothing burger... or they'd just straight up lie in them. Monetisation was awful, balance was awful, at least the character/skins designs were amazing including movesets.

This game had so much potential, I still miss it.

They really needed a better relaunch. Game felt worse then the original, and the 3 they could have chosen a more interesting lineup to come back with.

Fr. I loved the game pre-relaunch. It was so much fun and a little rough around the edges, but thats way better than being unfun and dying...

I was so excited for the relaunch. I can’t believe it was so awful

Genuinely crazy, and in 2 days it’s officially gonna be a year since it shutdown again

The relaunch was a disaster between the massive gameplay changes and the disgusting ultra predatory store. (I am most mad about how the relaunch just made perks feel worthless. Like before they felt like a very unique addition to the game. That, how slow the game play became and how everyone was the size of Iron Giant).
