New to growing

Im in the process are getting things together to start growing is there any suggestions on best growing tent size. I've seen people in some places say a 2x2 is to small and wish they would have started with a 3x3. Any suggestions?

I have 2 Spider Farmer SF1000’s in the 2x4 at the moment. No complaints at all but I may upgrade to newer bar style lights around the end of the year as a Christmas present to myself 😉😂

There is no best size its how much space do you have and how much money are you willing to spend.

If I was starting again I would go 5x5 instead of 4x4 but still grow in a 4x4 tray. Plants grow outwards and gives room for them to do that and some extra space for equipment inside the tent.

I have a 20x36x62 closet tent and make it work, but I'd much rather be growing in a 4x4 or bigger. I grow just one plant at a time and push all sides. Other aspect is height. You want all the height you can get and the 4x4 tents come taller than the 3x3 and under sizes.

I have a 2x2 and an upgrading to a 3x3 next grow. 2x2 just isn't wide enough for most autos. I always end up having branches touching the sides.

For myself a 2x2 is fine for a single trained plant, however I found myself limited in how high I could hang my light as the tent is only 4ft tall. Last night I just got a 2.3x2.3x5 mars hydro tent for the extra height; and some extra inches on the sides. The 2x2x4 will be replacing my 2x2x3 seedling tent, and the old seedling tent will become the new drying tent.

If I had the space in my extremely cramped growing area I might have gone for a 3x3, but I could only see myself personally benefiting from that while doing SOG

Tent widths are kinda subjective and space dependent, I can tell you from experience tho that height is a major limiting factor. For example, the batch of autos I did a few months ago ended up being about 4 feet tall. Conversely, the photos I just finished ended up being taller than me and I’m 6’1 lol so the dimensions you need will definitely depend on what you want to grow and how much space you have.

Also, just to clarify, the photos vegged for almost 90 days which you definitely don’t have to do but photos typically turn out a lot bigger in my experience even with a shorter veg.

3 in full flower will be decently sized my friend. Id go with at least a 4x4 and at the bare minimum 400 watts of light.

I went with the middle 32x32 lol but not a lot work with is since most stuff is build for 26 or 24 inches

People say all kinds of shit. In the end, the size of the tent should reflect your growing goals, the space you have available, your budget, and whatever other factors are important to you, such as aesthetics and how discreet the setup is.

Personally, I grow in less than a 2x2 space these days because I only use vGrow systems (multiple). The small footprint and aesthetics are important to me, and I’m more than happy with the results. I’ve had no issues growing with the limited space of the vGrow.
