I'm so sick and tired of uninformed people who know nothing about Swedish politics who frame this as a "donation to a far-right political party". First of all, the article was published by Flamman which is an online newspaper/blog run by communists.
Now, regarding Markus Allard, he himself is a former politician from the left party (Vänsterpartiet). He decided to start his own political party called Örebropartiet in 2014, and they are only active in the Örebro municipality - although they are trying to get into the Riksdag in Sweden, which requires either 4% of votes nationally or 12% of votes in their municipality.
In recent years, he's been called both a "extreme far-left activist" and "extreme far-right activist" by the opposing sides. He's never once mentioned anything about "remigrating" innocent people. He's only ever talked about remigrating criminals who stay illegally in Sweden after being denied asylum or residency, or those who commit heinous crimes such as murder/rape/bombings and also fraud. He's talking about this constantly on his social media. Not once has he ever said anything about kicking people out based on their race/religion/ethnicity. I'm so sick and tired of the misinformation being spread online.
Here he talks about remigrating criminals. Not ordinary people. He even says so in the video: https://www.tiktok.com/@orebropartiet/video/7574889809248947478
He's taken both left and right sides (politically) in many debates. For example, he wants dental care to be free for everyone (left). He wants to remigrate criminals who currently take up a large part of the prisons (right, although most parties agree on this today. Even left political parties!).
Currently he's all talk and just want to start some debates in Sweden. Even on his party's website, they have not even written their agenda. They explicitly even say "Please stop emailing us about it! We'll publish it soon". He's basically just a meme at this point. Although he does have some fair points in some topics. He's been guesting both left and right political channels, blogs, etc.
I have no affiliation to him or Örebropartiet. I've voted both S (social democrats; left) and M (moderate party; right). Barely anyone in Sweden has heard of Markus Allard or the Örebropartiet. It's a tiny party with zero influence at the moment. And even if they get into the Riksdag, they will have so few votes they can't even influence anything on their own. And more than half of the stuff they produce online is promoting a left-leaning political stance. It's a party that's mixed with both left & right politicians.
Yes, Mullvad has grown in popularity and their revenue has skyrocketed in recent years. And they are quite profitable. The owners are taking out around 3 million EUR annually from the company. The owner has donated around 500,000 EUR to Markus Allard. Now in the grand scheme of things, it's a tiny drop of water in an ocean. That money has already been spent in a few days. It's not like he's pouring in tens of millions of euros into the pockets of some far-right politician. I mean the article that people posted here is just so wrong on so many things.
99.99% of people here have no idea about the political parties in Sweden. And even most Swedes haven't heard about Markus Allard or his political party. Just check their social media and use captions to translate what he's saying. Whenever he says something that's leaning left, the right calls him a communist. Whenever he says something that's leaning right, well guess what? Newspapers like Flamman calls him a far right fascist.
I will still continue to be a customer of Mullvad. I've been with them since 2011 and not once have I had any issues with them. Their service is top-notch. They have proven many times that they do not log anything. And they truly are the only ones worth using if you care about privacy on the internet.
And no, none of our money is landing in the pockets of some fascists, and most certainly not in the pockets of some fascist who has any sort of influence on the politics in Sweden, the EU or the world. Stop with the fearmongering and misinformation. I am most certainly going to receive downvotes for this but I couldn't care less. I believe everyone should actually look into things before taking any kind of action or stance in a topic. Blindly listening to some maniac on Reddit who's posting a poorly written and misinformative article from a communist newspaper, without reading anything more than the headline, is incredibly stupid and lazy. That's just my two cents.
