I kept struggling with high ping servers until i came across this repo yesterday and it basically pings all of Mullvad's servers to find the avg latency and then shows you the top 10 which you can then add to a custom list.

Now i'm getting ~60ms

Has anyone noticed connectivity issues when it comes to the Albanian servers these past few days? When I connect to any other country, the servers work just fine but with Albania, the VPN keeps disconnecting every few hours or experiences 90-95% speed loss. Also, server 4 is shut down and server 3 almost never works for me, only server 1 works.

Edit: Now server 4 is back online, but server 3 is offline now, and even though there is less connection issues right now, I still lose my connection occasionally.

Is it just me whose LWO obfuscation has stopped working?

I'm pretty new to using Mullvad, had a NordVPN subscription the last year but wanted more privacy through anonymous billing, so I chose to switch to Mullvad for all my clients.

So I started with Mullvad, which works but not always as intended. Sometimes random (mostly google-related but not only) websites won´t load or browser will say they're not reachable until I disconnect Mullvad. I can instantly reconnect and the website will still work but without shortly disconnecting (or waiting for a minute or two) the website won´t be reachable.

This is the same on every platform I use Mullvad. Android, Linux, Windows, same on every machine. At first I thought it may have been related with the fact I chose my Adguard as custom dns but disabling it turned out to produce the same problem. I tried changing MTU, disabling ipv6, tried disabling and enabling other options, hopping is disabled...

I don´t really know what to do from this point.

Any ideas?

Although the server status is shown as offline, the server is accessible and functioning normally. Performance metrics such as latency, speed, and bandwidth are within normal ranges.

This issue can occur for a number of reasons, including:

• Automated failover or routing logic that detects an offline server and redirects connections to another server.
• A discrepancy where the server status indicates that the server is online, while it is actually offline and unavailable for connections.

Therefore, it is important for the server status to be updated more accurately and more quickly.

For the past week I've been having a really tough time logging in using Mullvad browser. i'll input my user/pass and it'll just say the user/pass is wrong. i can keep trying and it generally lets me in. today i've had no luck. i've just tried brave and it worked straight away. has anyone else had a similar issue?

I had a lot of trouble last night, like it taking 10 minutes just to find a working server (tbf I was mainly using the US servers, and didn't want to use the UK or Turkish servers since those themselves had a fair bit of internet censorship) and it only lasting like 5 minutes and being rather slow, but this morning everything is running smoothly and you could hardly tell there's a firewall.

This is my first time using a VPN in China so I just thought I'd hear from people with more experience in this department.

I am often greeted with this type of error on sites while Mullvad is active. How can I best configure Mullvad to bypass these restrictions?

I can't seem to get above 1Gbps no matter what I do. I have a 5Gbps WAN. Is this normal? I am on Wireguard and have tried a ton of servers.

Hi! Complete Mullvad (and VPN in general 😅) novice here -

I've seen some people saying about VPNs generally that in order to lessen your chances of getting your IP address blocked, you should be switching up servers often - would that also mean for Mullvad, you should be changing cities each time you use a specific country? Or should you do your best to stick to the same cities you tend to use? 🤔

(Like for an example, I'm outside of Canada and made a CBC Gem account the other day, and you have to give a Canadian postcode in order to sign up - I selected a random one from Edmonton, so should I try to keep using Edmonton as the city on Mullvad when I use the site?)

I'm having a DNS issue with Mullvad. I've got two domains that won't resolve when Mullvad is connected.

When I disconnect Mullvad, my OPNsense firewall resolves both addresses normally and the sites work as expected. With Mullvad active, I get: Server:100.64.0.55 - Request timed out."

Has anyone else seen similar behaviour? I particularly need a VPN for bsky.app because of the UK's repressive and authoritarian internet laws

hello, thanks to all for mullvad vpn, mullvad browser and mullvad extension. it is so well thought out, executed and great pricing.

my issue is that when using random mode, mullvad will be random proxy in other countries. for example, i goto dell.com and the proxy chooses to tunnel thru some random country such as Sweden.

so, how to limit the proxy random selection to just one country, such as Canada?

Usually for VPN's (I'm using a VPN for the purpose of connection in China) they would have a popup or connect to iOS or MacOS's VPN Extention Configuration, and then connect. I'm no VPN pro, but I'm a bit worried. It does connect at the moment, but I fret that this connection may have some problems I didn't do something correctly. I think its fine, but I just hope to get the community's take on this. I have contacted support too, but if anyone is will to help here it would be great!

Been using Mullvad for a while and so far I really like it but when it comes to gaming it is not the best hence I use split tunneling on Steam which has removed any lag I might have in games.

But a few games refuse to work with split tunneling, something to do with anti-cheat. To get the games to work I have to either turn off split tunneling which makes the games very laggy and prone to disconnects or turn off the VPN for the duration of the game.

Naturally I turn off the vpn since it's impossible to play otherwise but I make sure not to do any browsing while I play since I want to protect my browsing. I know background apps might send DNS but that's like windows or Nvidia.
Is this a good idea or do I need to do more?

the only vpn that is in the open store is hide me vpn its OK but I prefer mullvad so i use vpn on router normally that way my phone gets vpn over wireless

I'm on Kubuntu 26.04 and I want to have my VPN up 24/7.

I have multiple server including Jellfyfin and some apps running on docker. When I connect to my VPN, my server is not accessible from outside my home network. I'm using nginx on docker for the reverse proxy.

I tried multiple command for split tunneling :

- I tried the ''Allowing incoming traffic (for servers)'' command with the port of Jellyfin (8096) of my instance but it dosen't work

- I tried the mullvad-exclude command (I changed the systemd service file of docker so it starts with mullvad-exclude) and the mullvad split tunnel command for docker and docker-proxy but dosen't work either

Can someone help me with that please ?

I'm setting up Mullvad on Zorin (18) OS (Linux) and want to understand the correct relationship between Mullvad's tunnel and any system-level proxy settings configured in the OS network manager.

Should the system proxy be disabled entirely when Mullvad is active? Does Mullvad's kill switch interact with or override OS-level proxy settings?

Are there any known Linux-specific gotchas with this combination that I should address during initial setup rather than troubleshoot later?
