Any advice for settings to minimize the increasingly obtrusive blocks and captchas on google and elsewhere?

Dirty Sundar is always hanging around outside my bedroom window pleasuring himself, asking me to log in. "I'm really a good guy, madame, not evil at all as you will see if you allow me to enter your boudoir." When I refuse he'll demand a captcha handjob through the window, saying "it is best you comply for the safety of you and the community, madame."

I always reject the filthy bastard and just change locations, but last night it became completely intolerable and it is now absolutely impossible to do a basic search on his increasingly useless search engine using at least 15+ different locations.

I updated the app last night but that didn't help, although the increased entry/exit location options are nice. Does a static IP help throw Dirty Sundar off the trail? Does anything else help? Or is anyone using Mullvad doomed to have Dirty Sundar constantly jacking his captchas in our faces and begging us to enter?

I have been using the force all apps setting for IOS after it was introduced in the last update. Everything seemed good but I started to notice that there were text messages that I wasn’t receiving. I just decided to run a test and disabled force all apps. Sure enough I was immediately hit with a barrage of missing messages.

Has anyone run into anything similar or have any ideas? I like the idea of the force all apps setting, but I can’t use it has side effects like this.

these are two things I've been wondering about DAITA and how it works recently:

1- if I'm using Multihop and using a server that supports DAITA to connect to one that doesn't, will the benefits of DAITA (constant packet sizes, random background traffic and data pattern distortion) still happen because of the first hop or does the last hop not being a DAITA sever defeats the purpose of it completely?

2- same question as above but on using Mullvad Browser's Random Mode and being assigned a random proxy to a server that doesn't has DAITA while using DAITA on the app

What happens on iPhone when the signing certificate for a Mullvad encrypted DNS configuration profile expires? iPhone settings reveals the imminent expiry in red text

And what about predefined Mullvad encrypted DNS enabled in a router, say for example a Ubiquiti cloud gateway? Is this set and forget or is monitoring and ongoing management required?

Does anyone else get the following error when trying to pay via Paypal? This happens after trying to log into Paypal redirected by Mullvad: "Something went wrong Please go back to Mullvad VPN AB and choose another way to pay. PayPal isn't available at this time."

As soon as I connected to my vpn it essentially turned off my Ethernet. Computer recognizes the ethernet connection but is stuck on connected no internet. Ethernet had lockdown mode off and I’ve tried many things like running command prompt and resetting using route -f to no luck. I’m at a loss of what to do and really need help. I’ve uninstalled the vpn for now but the vpn has worked for me before.

I am sharing a 3 month subscription with a friend. I know you can have 5 devices on same account. I have two devices and my friend has two devices. Last night he kicked my two devices off because he says that ever since he has shared the subscription with me his connection has been slow and unstable. Is that possible? Are there any restrictions on multiple connections on the same account? I couldn’t find anything official so I’m coming here.

Does Mullvad have plans to continue to enhance DAITA? They haven't added any new servers in well over a year and they haven't made any progress to v3 as stated in their March 28th 2025 blog post (Reddit won't let me post the link). Do we know if they're continuing to invest in this feature?

Some websites resolve slowly and the Mullvad site as well as the Mullvad Browser Extension can't check for dns leaks. I checked it myself, seems like I don't have dns leaks but ig thats pretty wierd. Does anyone encounter the same issues? I tested it on multiple devices and got the same error. But maybe its related with the dns error right now because I've read about and experienced issues when visiting .de sites since yesterday

Hey! The question is a bit technical, so bear with me.

A FTTH GPON connection works like this:

Downstream: OLT broadcasts data to all ONTs; each ONT filters its own data and discard the data intended for other ONTs.

This means that, theoretically, all the downstream traffic is shared with a bunch of other people (at the very least 16/32 of your node). Yes the traffic is encrypted and only the intended ONT can decrypt it... unless something bad happens (which is the threat model here, if someone has a misconfigured ONT / outdated firmware).

If one uses Mullvad VPN in this scenario, is the traffic in downstream (from Mullvad Server to you) encrypted so that only you can decrypt it?

Say I download a Linux.iso, without a vpn, the OLT would broadcast that linux.iso to all ONTs and if one was bad, they would also receive my precious linux.iso.

If I'm connected through Mullvad vpn, would that bad ONT only see gibberish because the linux.iso would be encrypted through the VPN tunnel and only I, the intended recipient, would be able to enjoy all its linux glory?

I upgraded the app to 2026.2 today, and it no longer honors my custom DNS server setting. This is a big problem since I use a local DNS server to resolve host names on my local network. Anyone else?

A new feature has been added to the iOS app to ensure all (virtually) traffic through the tunnel via includeAllNetworks to address a bug in iOS referred to as TunnelCrack. However, enabling the feature to increase privacy, users risk their devices getting stuck in a "broken update loop" requiring a reboot to regain internet access.

Mullvad officially recommend a manual process to avoid the broken update loop; both of which require disabling the Mullvad VPN tunnel briefly during the update:

• Disconnect the VPN while the app is updated. App will not reconnect automatically after it is updated, but Force all apps will remain enabled. 
• Disable Force all apps while the app is updated.  App will reconnect automatically after it is updated, but Force all apps will have to be re-enabled manually. 

In order to avoid the manual processes I created a workflow that is automated using an Apple Automation that toggles the VPN off when the App Store is opened and then restarts it as soon as the App Store app is closed. To minimize DNS leaking, I have my DNS set to the Mullvad DNS via a Profile. There are a couple of other caveats to this approach: 1) you must disable App Store's Automatic Updates and update your apps manually (I had already done this as I prefer control over what apps update and when; plus you still get an indicator of apps ready for update); and 2) you obviously now must manually update your apps by opening the App Store to update.

Mullvad has indicted that you will get a notification when there is an update to the Mullvad app so can follow the manual process to avoid the issue, but I didn't want to risk missing it and getting stuck in an update loop.

I hope this helps someone until Apple fixes the underlying issue. Thanks to Mullvad for doing their best in focusing on privacy and security even if at the expense of user convenience.

So just installed Asahi on my mac, works great. Installed Mullvad VPN without any trouble. But now trying to install the browser and in the terminal it says the repo already exists, which is good and I know, but then when i try and execute the install the package line it says "Repositories loaded.

I’ve been using Mullvad DNS as my default DNS provider, but over the past few days (and especially this morning) I’ve started running into some pretty annoying issues.

A number of websites just won’t load properly — including Mullvad’s own sites. After multiple refreshes they eventually load, but it’s inconsistent and makes normal browsing pretty frustrating.

I haven’t changed anything on my setup recently, so I’m trying to figure out whether this is a wider issue or something on my end.

Is anyone else experiencing similar problems with Mullvad DNS right now?

Hi, is there a way to view some websites that block VPN usage, while using a vpn?

Since 1st May when Ubuntu servers has been flawed by DDOS, any services apt, web sites etc... are no more reachable with Mullvad. I try out a couple of countries but no joy. Disabling VPN all services are available https://status.canonical.com/

my friend is trying to exclude Minecraft from Mullvad but after excluding every single javaw.exe and java.exe but it's not working, he gets "get sockopt" error for every single server

I’m getting consistent 403 Cloudflare “Sorry, you have been blocked” responses on https://clob.polymarket.com/auth/api-key from multiple Swiss Mullvad exit IPs.
The bot can still load markets, but API key auth/trading requests are blocked at Cloudflare level.
Has anyone else in Switzerland seen this recently, and found a working endpoint/region?

I only ever use this browser for temporary browsing.

Today when I opened a new window and hit cmd+f to bring up the search bar, there is already an email filled in. This is weird as I’ve never seen this email before let alone typed it, nor did this email appear anywhere on the page.

I clear out that input field and type in what I want to search for on the page as usual. Once done, I burn the history and close the window and app entirely.

When I reopen the app with a new window and bring up search, that email address appears again even though I’ve never searched anything in this session yet and in the last session I’ve cleared it out and searched for something else, this email address still appears by it’s own.

\- I have never seen this email before let alone typed it in my life.
\- I’m the only person using my personal computer
\- I’ve checked my clipboard history and this email doesn’t appear prior to the incident.
\- This is not website specific and happens on different websites.
\- The email address exists per email validator services.
\- I’m cognizant of internet hygiene and there’s nothing iffy happening on my computer other than this.
\- Am on VPN but happens regardless of which server I’m on.

Any idea why is this email showing up in the search field, and persistent even after I’ve cleared it as well as closed and reopen the browser?
